Just received this fantastic little find for my BDIII list, which contains two ID tags to the same soldier with different cities--from the famous Garnison location of Ingolstadt as well as the city of my family. Josef Birnkammer, 24.2.1889, Ers. Abteilung, bay. 6. Feld Artillerie Regt. One is for the city of Ingolstadt (2 Ers. Battr.) and the other for Freising (Garnison Battr.) Each tag has its original cord. The backs are blank

The 10cm x 18cm striped bag is marked distinctively specific to the Bavarian BDIII, kb III Armeekorps Bekleidungs  Depot, with 1915 date and Hersteller code.

Showing here one that I am told is a WWI Erkennungsmarke (aka: "Hundemarke") as issued to one Emil Kanzler, born 12.8.92 in Neudorf.Elbing.  If I read this correctly, he belonged to Reserve Infantry Regiment 210 as a member of the 2nd Machine-Gun Company 219.  The tag was already broken in two  when I received it.DSCN6319.thumb.JPG.c38b5c89d1ddc3727616b26eb351ca0b.JPGDSCN6320.thumb.JPG.56066ee5e53263bc4111c9b4bca95a8f.JPG

My new favorite. 1st Ersatz Batallion of Mecklenburgische Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 14 and then to Radfahrer-Kompanie 54 which was part of the 54th Infantry Division. Found a likely match on the verlustlisten for a Johann Tomforde of the Radfahrer-Battalion 5 who was lightly wounded September 23rd 1916. Radfahrer-Battalion 5 included elements of JB14, RK54, and JB6.
