    This is the 50th Anniversary of the New Woman Badge. It is 15/16 in. wide, 1-3/4 in. high, gilt plated and has a pin back.

    It celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the women's association who work for and defend the fatherland.

    Translation around badge- Women Association Building Security for Fatherland.

    This is a Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) Badge. It is 1-7/16 in. wide from point ot point, 2-1/8 in. high,

    made of aluminum and has a pin back.

    A Good People, Good Deed Award. This badge is 1-3/8 in. wide, 2-1/8 in. high, made of plastic, gilt plated and has a pinback.

    It was awarded to individuals who had major civic contributions to the 5th District of the city.

    Brass Fortress of the Fatherland Decoration Second Class. It was awarded for efforts in support of the resistance in the South.

    It was awarded in two classes. It has disappeared from the Official Orders and Decorations Roster although it continues to be worn.

    It is 1-3/16 in. wide 2-1/8 in. high, made of aluminum and has a pinback.

    Commemorative Socialist Republic of Vietnam Medal for the Post Office Founding Date 9-9-1945.

    The planchet is 1-3/8 in. diameter, 2-1/8 in. high, made of plastic and has a pin back.

    Commemorative Medal to celebrate 300 Years existence of Bien Hoa in Dong Nai Province.

    The planchet is 1-3/8 in. diameter, 2-3/16 in. high, made of plastic and has a pinback.

    I was stationed at Bien Hoa Air Base from November 1969-May 1970. The village of Bien Hoa was right outside the perimeter fence.

    This is an identity card for a female born on 31-01-1952 and living in Ho Chi Minh City.

    The card is 3-1/2 in. wide and 2-1/4 in. high.

    This is a 1948 issue 5 Dong paper note when North and South Vietnam were all one country.

    Ho Chi Minh's picture is on the obverse of the note.

    Bến Tre is South-South-West of Sài Gòn, so not exactly in North Vietnam.

    Some documents and badges could be more accurately described as "Socialist Republic of Vietnam" (since 2 July 1976).

    Prior to this date it's the "Democratic Republic of Vietnam / North Vietnam" (1955-1976).

     

    Note Hồ Chí Minh, declared independence on 2 September 1945 and proclaimed the creation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
