WWII mix with repair job on the iron cross ribbon. Could this have had wiederholungsspange? Or could it just have simply been damaged on the Russian front and field repaired...

nothing fancy or extravagant, but it has a waldeck ribbon and i like it!

a large 1914 cast bronze medal by medallist anita lehzen depicting the upcoming great thrashing that germany is about to unload on the multi-headed hydra with animal heads representing the members of the entente; the russian bear is already down, while the gallic rooster and english bulldog are both about to get sliced and diced...

...while on the reverse a lyric from 'die wacht am rhein"----everybody's favorite patriotic german anthem. those pesky frenchies!

Would the 2nd one with the Mecklenburg-Waldeck-Dutch combination suggest possibly a courtier connected with the militairy in a minimum captain-rank?

    Hi Daniel,

i think you found out the second bar already some years ago. I ve the names somewhere at home., but i am on holiday at the moment. The first bar is from somebody from IR 83, groteke or something like this and the second one was from the Standortkommandantur Bad Aroldsen when i recall it correctly.

    Best regards

Hi, very nice ribbon bars. Those are from Reuß, not Waldeck

Yep, you're right, my bad, probably had one to many to drink

Here's one that's definitely Waldeck, recently received - auction photo, haven't gotten round yet to making a better photo.
