Well, I could never match Eitze's stellar collection, but I'll offer up my sole Waldeck award (a buck short and about 6 mos. late, as usual).

The Verdiesntkreuz 2.Kl mit Schwertern:

Hello Gaffken,

what an impressive cross

And with only 16 (!!!) awarded pieces a first class rarity !!

I`ll show my Honour Cross with Swords bar, which was original posted in another thread.

But I think here`s the correct place for all Waldeck stuff ;)

greetings

eitze

This time only paper :D

I was able to get this book:

"Offizier-Stammliste des k?nigl. Preu?ischen Infanterie-Regiments von Wittich (3. Kurhessisches) Nr. 83: 1866-1903"

This is the Waldeck Home Regiment and it give the biographies of all 316 active and retired Officers of the Regiment up to 1903.

You can see in the appendix, that many of them were awarded different classes of the "Waldeck Verdienstkreuz" :jumping:

What a neice medal you've got. In the past I had the opportunity to buy the same, but like I collected only Baden and Bavarian medals, I refuse to buy it. I regret now.

Hello,

I want to show you a postcard of the "boss", which I obtained this week.

On his neck he`s wearing the Waldeck Military Merit Cross 1. class and the ordensspange is a pre WW-1 piece.

And here`s a picture of his post WW-1 Ordensspange, which can be found in Gert Efler`s fantastic Waldeck book :D

As you can see - nothing from Waldeck on the bar :o

A new 3-er Ordensspange which I got via epay.

I have to replace the wrong medal from Reuss with the correct Waldeck Silberne Verdienstmedaille mit Schwertern.

Nice worn ribbons with swords :)

you`ve got a very nice group.

Do you have the award document for the Waldeck Silver medal and if so, could you please show it ???

Hello Herr General,

thank you for posting the document :jumping:

It would be nice if you could post a bigger picture, if the delivery has arrived. Those docs are rare!

Hi,

Lucky man. A very nice medal bar. :jumping:

It is probably for a junior officer who died during the war. There are no others medals

Christophe

Something with Waldeck?!

From today's flea market, no "bling bling" but just a photo. Well, one of the nicer ones, I'd say ... :ninja:
