Soviet Order of Glory, III Class to a Mongolian

Thirteen Mongolian soldiers were awarded the Order of Glory 3rd Class for their feats in the war against Japan from August - September 1945. Out of 13 soldiers awarded the Order of Glory, 3rd Class, two were bestowed the title of Hero of the Mongolian People's Republic.

Below is the information on one of the thirteen recipients of the Order of Glory, 3rd Class -Private Baljidyn Yondon. He was awarded the Order of the Glory, 3rd Class with serial number 555807 by the Decree of the Supreme Soviet of USSR in July 1946.

Excerpt from the archival document showing the exact serial number of the order and the name who the order was handed. It says "Order of the Glory, 3rd Class with serial number 555807. Handed to Private Baljidyn Yondon on September 13, 1946. Serial number of the Order Certificate is 895403". Private Yondon received his order almost a year after the recommendation.

Too bad it doesn't give a bit more detail on where this combat action took place. Still, a great and rare find!

So he had no other awards or campaign medals authorized? At the very minimum, he had the VoG medal. Very cool stuff. Thank you for sharing it.
