    Hello,

has anyone come across any photos of the 1918-21 Mongolian peoples revolutionary army ?

Did they wear mongolian costume or Soviet uniforms ?

I think i have seen a photo of Marshal Choibelsan in red army uniform and schlem.

The Mongolian military used different uniforms and ranks prior to 1921 national democratic revolution. The above illustration shows the development of the Mongolian military uniforms and insignia from 1921-1944. Since 1944, the Mongolian officers and other military personnel have been using shoulder boards and standard military insignia. Prior to 1944, the officers of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Army used different uniforms and insignia from the officers of the State Security. This period is the most interesting and colorful but the original uniforms and insignia are now very rare to find and research.

Choibalsan is posing next to Budyionyi in 1925 or so. Choibalsan is wearing the uniform of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Army. The collar insignia is of the Commander of the Mongolian Army.
