Last time I saw the 4th class St.George cross issued for Englishman the asking price was $7500. This is a nice WW1 trio with a foreign award, but it's no George Cross. The medals market must be booming in Ukraine and Russia, I assure you it isn't in the west at the moment! But even at western market this set will cost a lot. You see Frank, there are a lot of high british awards around and very few 1st class "polnoves" for bravery, awarded to foreigners... I don't actually miss the lunacy of 2008 a market like that is positively unhealthy, mind you it is still very strong for the really good and rare stuff and funnily enough the jeton and badge marked is somewhat better than then. The tone of the thread was "The guy wanting the info does not have it, but I do... so that should be enough..." ... so i thought I would keep that up.... :-) (Serious though, will get to it soon) It has nothing to do with Esoteric, it has been my experience that Foreign awards on British bars are usually less appretiated in the UK than the foreign awards are in their home countries. Especially Russia where there is a vibrant market for Russian stuff. Just by the way... I remember reading in a Memoire about the fighting in German East Africa... a Box of Russian Medals arrived at High command to be awarded as the discretion of the South African General commanding the troops in German East. A few higher officers chose what they considered the prettiest for themselves, noone having any idea of which was "higher" or lower. Most likely he got in summer 1919 from white army general Dobrolsky (while serving on destroyer "Stuart").
