Hello everyone, I am new to the fourm. I was wondering if I could get some help with a few patches that I found in a box of soviet bloc items. I have no idea what they are. I am guessing that they are Egyptian or Syrian maybe? Also, could anyone tell me, what do they say?

    They are from Syria.

    1.

    Top: "Nation, Honor, Loyalty"

    Bottom: "Military Political Academy"

    2.

    Top: "Unity, Liberty, Socialism"

    Bottom: "Sacrifice, Redemption, Glory"

Beneath the eagle: "The Airborne", or "The Paratroopers"

    3.

    Top: "Nation, Honor, Loyalty"

    Bottom:??? "Ceremonial" something?

I have to go along with Paul about these being pins or badges. Agree you show pictures of them as patches, but the three displayed look more solid than cloth. No arguments, just another observation ;)

They are patches. They are generally made of plastic, not cloth.

Lion101 has shown a number of similar patches in this thread: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/53375-syrian-shoulder-sleeve-patch

I also have several similar ones, but I don't have any scans at hand.

    Hi

Information is accurate. The second patch is paper engulfed in plastic, the third is metallic engulfed in plastic. The only cloth patch I have seen is the "Assad Battalions" that were led by the late president's borther Rifaat Al-Assad.

Usually, the syrian army does not have the nice patches we see every where. However, they do produce good quantities of paratrooper wing badges with either the late president Hafez al Assad head (rare to find these days), then Bassel AlAssad head (really very rare to find) and lateset with Bashar Al Assad head. These were made for all special forces battalions.

    Regards
