Great East Asia War Medal Replicas

161 posts in this topic

Let’s see how many of them are out there ;)

All after-war replicas can be divided into two classes

  • General replicas
  • Personalized replicas

General replicas were made by different manufacturers for “public at large”.

Personalized replicas were created for certain groups of veterans.

General replicas

Type 1 “Convex chrysanthemum”

Personally I think this is the earliest type of replicas.

At least I know for a fact that it was “out there” at the end of 70s.

Here it is with the “standard” (for this type) box.

The most prominent feature of this type is the form of central chrysanthemum.

Type 2 “On green ribbon in black plastic box”

One of the most (the most?) widespread type.
