Following the German practice, once the war was declared by Germany to any country, the awards of that country were no more worn or displayed. Heydrich's funeral pillow shows 7 foreing breast stars, bt the list above from AHF only mentions 5 breast star decorations. These 7 foreing awards appear on his ribbon bar perfectly, with miniature crowns (italian awards) or rosettes. The question is: which are these foreing breast stars? Chris Boonzaier Posted May 24, 2014 Share Posted May 24, 2014 I will go out on a limb here and say, Heydrich is probably the man with the most inflated medal count I can think of. He did almost nothing compared to most of the "big Guys" and has a rack like a Russian general. I think it is because he put the shts up people.... his men probably sent messages before he went somewhere.."Heydrich is coming... give him an award if you want to... and dont give him one if you dare to!!" He may have recieved the EK1 and Front clap in Silver.... but from what I can see, he saw little if any combat... I am guessing the EK! was a favor amongst friends.... many fighter pilots did a lot more than him just to recieve the EK2. How could he possibly have qualified for a Gold Wound badge? Another favour amongst friends. All the italian awards? Is there any reason why someone with his career path would have recieved all these? These fellows broke the rules for ribbon bars and did what they wanted. Sepp at least was a real soldier. Heydrich was not.
