    Great portrait Chris,

his medal bar certainly would not really have been a great help in establishing his identity. Oberst Albert Brendel died on 28 March 1903 as the commander of 15. Infanterie-Regiment. He only commanded the regiment for a couple of weeks before his death.

    Regards

    Glenn

    Hi Glenn,

thanks, yes indeed, a Medal bar identification would have been a long shot. It Languished on  Northern german Dealers site for ages described as "Bavarian Officer".... Until a sharp eyed friend noticed the same photo in the Jäger history.

Ironically it is a rarer bar than the same with an EK2 on it :-)

    Best

    Chrs
