After many years of thinking, thinking, then thinking some more, I am finally getting around to Framing the wife's Great Grandfather.....

Very lovely display. Great Ribbonbars :)

Did all the medals come with the grouping, because the Volkpflege Medal had to be given back, when a higher grade was awarded.

Hi,

with the exception of the Helmet star all are his. I think there may be a NSFK Flugzeugführerabzeichen für Motorflugzeuge missing, but otherwise the rest are right out of the Grandmothers Drawers. The Ribbon bars have both grades.

Good idea Chris and very well done.  I have several medal groups with documentation and the medals are in one place and the documents in a fileing cabinet in another room.  A note on the back of the group, of under the group in most cases, informs those who come after me, or a forgetful me, that there are document that go with the group.  Obvious problem is that this can result in the paperwork getting separated from the medals, a problem you have managed to avoid.

Well done.

Regards

Brian
