Dear Mattyboy

We can see an Iron Cross 1st class (OEK 1908), which is clearly sown onto the uniform! You don't see that too often, furthermore there is a mecklenburg militarverdienstkreuz (MVK) 1.st class (OEK 1350), the badge on the left looks a bit similar to the Prinz Alfons erinnerungsabzeichen and I don't know the badge on the right. It looks like something that could come from the saxon/thuringian states.

Kind regards, Laurentius

That is not the Prince Alfons badge. This kind of badge could be for a wedding-jubilee, but I don't know which.
This is the Alfons-badge

Hi all,

Thanks for your comments. I couldn't find anything matching this award online either. Attached is the photo in it's entirety - I think the name on the reverse is General Buchholz, but I've not heard of him before...

If I squint hard, it appears that the 5th from the left on his medal bar is a Hindy so, the 1946 date on the back may be when the photo was taken.  Definitely post-1934.  The 2 odd badges could be some kind of postwar thing, like a jubilee or adjutant badge for one of the ex-royals.  The one on the right could be anything from foreign to some kind of veteran's group badge.

Dear Mattyboy

I did some research and I found out that the badge on the left is the ´Großes jubilaumsabzeichen zum 50. jahrestag des 2. Lothringisches infantrie-regiment nr. 131 1881-1931

Kind regards, Laurentius
