Dear forumites,

Here I’d like present a nice officer medal bar who also carrier after WWI made.

Description of the medals on the bar:

• Preußen, Eisernes Kreuz 2. Kl. 1914 am Kämpferband (OEK 1909), E gs/S;
• Preußen, Königlicher Hausorden von Hohenzollern Kreuz der Ritter mit Schwertern (OEK 1789), Punzen FR 938(Gebrüder Friedländer, Berlin), S vg E;
• Hamburg, Freie Stadt, Hanseatenkreuz 1915-1918(OEK 688), vs Ku E
• Braunschweig Hzgt, (OEK 634), Br;
• Deutsches Reich 1933-45, Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer (OEK 3803/1), Hersteller R.S.L. (Richard Sieper & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, Typ I), E br;
• Deutsches Reich 1933-45, WH DA 2. Kl. für 18 Jahre (OEK 3853), Tombak vs;
• Deutsches Reich 1933-45, WH DA 4. Kl. für 4 Jahre (OEK 3855)E vs;

I was wondering if a name could be researched for this bar, although I think it’s very unlikely.
I’m looking forward to your educated inputs and comments. Thank you in advance!
regards,

Claudio

Closest match I have is Oberst Johann Jahns, Gruppenleiter I, Wehrersatz-Inspektion Dortmund. He was an Oberleutnant in IR 165 in 1914 and spent most of World War I with RIR 27. He also received the KVK2X (20.11.1940) and KVK1X ( 30.1.1943), but may not have updated the medal bar during World War II.

There may be other matches out there. The combination may not be common, but it is not unique.

Thanks Dave! Nonetheless a probable name is not bad at all!!! 7 out of 8 medals are on it and the KVK2 as you rightly said, there weren't always updated on the medal bars usually.

Thanks again for your research!

Claudio
