You need to resize your scans a great deal. This can be a problem when you prefer to post high quality scans. (And yours are lovely!) There are some threads here with advice on resizing and posting.

    Try these:

    http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4545

    There are others.

And, yes, paying will help, see:

    http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3775

but so will begging the management for an upgrade to regular member.

Thanks for your fascintaing posts on a generally unknown area of phaleristics!

    It?s me again Ed,

my control panel says "You have used 101.51k of global upload space".

Does it mean I have only 9 k left to post ???

Do the 110 k mean per post, per day, per week or all together ???

I have to say, I am a little bit confused - should polish my english a little bit more :D

    Thanks for the help

    Greetings

Do not worry. Those messages are very confusing even to native speakers of English! Just try making the image smaller and be sure to save it under a new name (image1aa....) as the forum seems to have some memory of old images with large sizes and ignores that they may have gotten smaller. Many use image editing programs that show the image size and allow you to make the image just the size you want. Their advice -- on other threads -- is based on this. I don't have that skill (using mostly Paint Shop Pro) so there must be a series of experiments to get the image small enough.

Maybe we need a single, one-size-fits-all, thread with a tutorial on image sizing? This advice is currently spread all over. A new thread, pinned, makes sense to me.

I am also a user of Paint Shop Pro and normally there are no probs with resizing.

And by the way, for me PictureUpload isn`t that slow and it`s for free :D

But I`ll try to post the right way.

    Thanks

    Forward to Nigeria.

Here`s another court mounted group. Left to right we have:

    - Republic Medal

    - General Service Medal

    - National Service Medal

    - Defence Service Medal

The first is a medal to commemorate the first 10 years of indepenedence and the last 3 were awarded for service in the cilvil war - the so called Biafra War 1966-70.

More Nigerian ODM to follow ( if you?re interested).

    NIGERIA:

The Federal Republic of Nigeria issued two orders:

    - The Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (senior order)

    - The Order of the Niger

Both in a civil and military division, which differ only in the color of the ribbon.

    Let`s start with the first.

Re-instituted in 1977 it consists of the following classes:

    - Grand Star of the Order

    - Grand Commander

    - Commander

    - Officer

    - Member

    - Silver (First Class) Medal

    - Bronze (Second Class) Medal

In the picture you can see both medals.

The Silver in the military division (red stripe) and the Bronze in the civil division. The reverse of both are blank.

    Greetings

    Another order

    THE ORDER OF THE NIGER

It is also divided into two divisions: civil and military - and the only difference is the red stripe in the ribbon.

This order was also re-instituted in 1977 and comes in these classes:

    - Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger

    - Grand Member of the Order of the Niger

    - Commander of the Order of the Niger

    - Officer of the Order of the Niger

    - Member of the Order of the Niger

    - First Class (silver) Medal of the Order of the Niger

    - Second Class (bronze) Medal of the Order of the Niger

All classes were produced by Spink & Son, London.

Here you see the Second Class Medal of the military division. The reverse is blank.

I was in the Museum of the "Ordre de la Lib?ration" in Paris, a few days ago.

There is a large exhibit with De Gaulle's orders. Quite a few of them from African countries.

Sorry for the lousy quality of the pix, the lighting was awful, and no flash allowed (of course)

First off: the National Order of Mauritania
