He was 26 at the onset of WWI, so he had plenty of time to wear it. ;)

No! but the carving in the marbel of the star and wings put me in mind of airforce,

Was it just pilots who got a propeller, what about ground-crew??.

Enjoying the warm late Autumn sunshine here in Deva I took a stroll over to the far side of the city.

and having a nosy in side the small Catholic Cemetery located across the road from the "Trident" Supermarket,

I spotted this just bushy overgrown object inside the gates:
