    Hello Craig,

    That's a very nice 57 EKI you have there!

    Earlier ones are magnetic and and have a pin going from top to bottom, some were even made from left over WWII stock.

    Later ones have the short pin, usually non magnetic and there's an indentation at the top of the frame (for soldering the ring) allowing it to be used for the EKII.

    I don't know how to tell an early EKII but I suppose later ones are non magnetic.

    If I'm wrong on the above points I'm quite sure someone will correct me.

    Tony is right :food-smiley-004: ,also the early ones had the beading or ribbing frosted...just like the TR awards.

    Is the ribbon ring on the EK2 soldered to form a circle?

    Hi Dave & Tony thanks for the replies.

    I'ver paid for them but have yet to recieve them so I am using the sellers pics.

    I believe Tony knows the EK1 smile.gif

    When I get the EK2 I'll advise further

    Here is my VERY early '57 EK2 ... in fact it is maker marked "4" on the ring. Also has nice frosting on the beading ....
