Here are the long awaited results for the photo competition. My congratulations to all the winners, as well as a thank you to all members who took the time to enter the competition. I would also like to give a big thanks to Peter and his judges who spend time and effort deliberating over all the entries, which I know is a time consuming task.

Above all a special thank you goes to Mervyn, who without his drive and contribution none of this would happen.

Congratulations to the winners and indeed all entrants who made judging so, so difficult (if pleasurable!).

Thanks to the judges and all of the entrants! And congrats to all of the winners!

Just one remark, I think that the competition would be even better if one new rule was introduced - Photos that already won prizes in the previous competitions can not be used again. I am not a big fan of restrictions and bans but to me personally it's not that interesting when exactly the same photos win the prizes over again. Of course this is just my opinion and I hope that I will not offend anyone.

    Totally agree here :D

It'd also be nice if there was a "viewers poll" for those who didn't place in the categories :D

Similar to what we do in model aircraft competitions it creates a nice 1,2,3 for who viewers liked in the categories :)who didn't have a chance to place.

I was wondering if there was a link to past years contests. Quite

honestly, When I was posting my entries, I could not remember

if I had used them before.

It would be great if we could have one topic with all of the photos or at least just the winners from the previous competitions.

If you check these links you will see that some of the 2013 winning images were used before, and not only that, there's even an image that won the prize couple of times.

entered last year. I won't do that again.

Thank you Mervyn, Nick and the judges for doing

the contest again this year. The contest lets me

combine my two hobbies and it helps to keep me

    coming back to GMIC.

I am stunned and speechless to have received such an amazing honor. Soon after joining the US Army in 1995, I bought myself a nice camera that went everywhere with me. Whether I was on the base at home, staring at a North Korean guard on the DMZ, traveling the war torn countryside of Bosnia or most recently, deployed to Basra Iraq (2009-2010) my camera never left my side. Perhaps if I can find them, i can share some I my older pictures with the forum. Thank you to everyone that made this possible. Mike

My congratulations to the winners as well. All well deserved.

The comments made by the judges in realation to many of the photos will be published shortly - meant to have done so by now but life intruded!

The issue of previous entries being re-submitted did come up but, as noted, was not banned by the current rules. Something which will be revisited for next time.

Paja - thanks for posting the previous winners!

Again, well done to all who submitted.

    Peter
