    Turkish Ribbon Bars WW1 02

Here we see that 1st Lt M?nir has devices added to all four of his ribbons--

    1) Turkish War Medal combatant ribbon has a miniature of the star itself attached. See Devices section. This seems to have been fairly common Ottoman practice.

    2) Prussian Iron Cross 2nd Class and... Lo And Behold! There is that wretched "Saxon" miniature device!!!

    3) Austro-Hungarian Military Merit Cross 3rd Class with War Decoration (wreath) also in accord with GERMAN display, and

    4) probably from the stripes and color, a Saxon Albert Order Knight 2nd Class with Swords.

This is a remarkable group! Although M?nir remained in the Republic's army until 1936, he never advanced beyond Captain. He died in 1957.
