Reversing the usual system here, let's look at the CLOSEUP first:



1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class

Saxon Saint Henry Order (almost certainly a Knight, though theoretically could be a Silver Medal)

Saxon Merit Order (probably Knight 2nd Class) with Swords

Saxon Albert Order (almost certainly Knight 2nd Class) with Swords

Austro-Hungarian Military Merit Cross 3rd Class with War Decoration Wreath

Hindenburg CRoss for WW1 Combatants

LUFTSCHUTZ MEDAL 1938+


And just going Off Scan Left-- a KVK ribbon from the bttonhole.

what kind of uniform is this being worn on?


We have a highly decorated Saxon officer (crying shame no name AGAIN ) with the "Triple" of all three Orders available to officers from thyat kingdom for bravery in WW1.

It is (obviously with the KVK buttonhole ribbon) after 1938-- the Austrian award is snuggled in ahead of the Hindenburg Cross just like any other "state" level WW1 decoration.


And finally, with NO long services...


we have the Civil Defense Medal.

Two kinds of folks got that--

1) career members of the fulltime uniformed civil defense-- for 4 years service, or

2) air raid wardens and similar volunteers of the gasmask-armband-helmet equipped sort.


So if we were lucky enough to find this ribbon bar we woyuld think....
