Hello everyone, I was researching the medals that Father Rupert Mayer won in the WW1, I know that he was awarded three times (1st and 2nd of the Iron Cross ), as he lost his leg in combat, I suspect that the third decoration is the wounded badge, but I didn't find anything about it, also, as he died in 1945, it is likely that he had the Hindenburg Cross, could anyone confirm for me what his medals?

Thanks for posting such a wide array of items. I've just started getting into Cuban items, and your posts have provided a lot of education for me.

This set is only a collectors set and not those of a recipient. However, I can confirm that all 9 medals of the Venda Defence Force, were issued during the existance of Venda

Thank you for your reply here, I am fully aware of the OMRS having been a collector of British war and campaign medals over 50 years. It was not a complaint about the information being only available to members just a response to the previous reply to my request. I'm sure that what you provide to members maybe invaluable but many people today especially have to watch their finances regardless. Regards David

KwaNdebele Police Establishment Medal Mystery.

Hi Marcon1 & fjcp, I will cover the KwaNdebele Police as soon as my time allows me, but the blank medal, is definitely a sample. There is also the Police and Establishment medals, but they were awared differently. I will cover that as well. I will cover all Homelands Awards in their own topic, to make searching easier. Hope to cover Transkei today. I don't always know if the members like the articles or not, because a like on the topics will help me with that, as I covered the complete Order of the Leopard correctly for the first time. I tried to search for information for many years, without success, but was fortunate to lay my hards on the Heraldry Archive files, that clear most awards. I'm only active on GMIC for 1 week and don't know all the correct rules yet Regards Archie I even have the one medal with green enamel in the Police badge. I was fortunate to buy the original samples from the designer, many years ago. They were on display in hisbl office -

Hi I would like to know if there is any way in I can get information on Gustav v. Albedhyll/Albidyll (1790-1863) who stood in a swedish unit from 1813-1815 entered as Lieutenant, coming from württemberg militairy service and left for prussian service when he was a Captain. I would like to know if possible when he stood in which unit as well as his promotion date to Captain. Any suggestions most welcome Regards David

Hi Archie, Again thank you for the pictures. One tiny remark, your picture of Bophuthatswana Prison Service Medal for Faithful Service (Silver) for 20 Years Service is the same as the (gold) 30 years version. You can see the same dots and marks on both versions. I'm so used to look for small differences on medals that I could not help but noticing 😉 Marcon1. - Yesterday
