    1. Lilo, Would it be possible to get a scan of that page from the book so we can get a better look at the item in question. My eyes aren't as good as they use to be, I think that the "Ehrenkreuz der Baltischen Landeswehr" had a sword over the top of the shield which I cannot see. Kind regards to ALL. Alex
    2. Hello Lilo and George, I think the words Star and Cross says it all. Star Cross As for the question 'Medal/Decorations/Order' or 'Unit badge' as I understand it these were awarded so i would say that they were not Unit Badges As for the robbons the Star would have been more of a Sash while the Cross would have been a ribbon Kind regards Alex
    3. Hi George, Yes I think you got the answer, got a chance to look him up and it states that ALEXANDER in 1919 participated in military operations in Latvia against Red units in the region, so the timeline fits and I think he would have been rewarded for his effects I can't really see him awarded with a Order of St George so late in the timeframe. Good to hear from you George you always come up with a winner. Cheers Alex
    4. Hi Lilo, Welcome, from the photo it looks like it could be the Order of St George, when I get home I'll try to look to see who had been awarded the Order to see if he is on the list. If you like To see the Order Kind regards Alex
    5. Fantastic collection, pardon my ignorance but the orders he has are without swords I thought these were awarded for civil service and not military, do you know any of the reasons why he was awarded these to help understand why they do not have the swords as I assume he was a military man. Regardless of my confusion, it is still a great achievement and I congratulate you for putting it together and sharing it we us. Kind regards Alex
    6. Gentlemen, The final price of $4301.00 blew me away, I must admit I was there until it went over $1700, your thoughts please as to why this one went for the price it did as most are sold at between $1000 to $2500. I do hope that Lars gets better soon, maybe hearing that he picked a winner on e-bay might cheer him up. Kind regards to all. Alex
    7. Here is a photo of my Great Grandfather about 1918 A close up of the item I am trying to find about. the silver piece under the Cross Would anyone know what it might by and sorry about the poor quality of the photo, hope someone can help. Kind regards Alex
    8. Like George I'm sorry to say that I have my doubts about it being a Faberge piece here is a Faberge that I have in my collection. As you can see the stamped marks are very clean and clear also the badge in question has the a Silversmith stamp with what looks like F K but it's not in the cyrillic alphabet F K was for Hans Fririch Knauff and I don't think he work for Faberge who used the cyrillic alphabet to mark his work also I cannot see any number itched on the back as each piece was number and recorded. just my thoughts. Cheers Gentlemen Alex
