Here's the badge we got a couple of years ago with the document at post #36. Not a pair, but great to have both.

Thanks, Nick. So many badges, so many cities!

2 classes of Labour Badges. The Labour Merit Badge is the rarer - apparently only 553 were awarded. See Richard Catalano's great site for other examples & historical notes. First, both together

Another rare medal. This is the 2nd of four medals for Inner Mongolia Grand Councils. Petersen shows the one associated with the 3rd Grand Council (p172). Richard Catalano also has photographs (3rd Council) on his excellent site. This example obviously has had a bit of wear and tear over the last 75-ish years, but isn't seen very often. The second Mongolian Grand Council leader was Toujou Hideki or Hideki Tojo (東條英機) (1884-1948). The medal reads 第二议蒙古大會紀念 Mongolia 2nd General Assembly Commemorative 成吉思汗紀元 Genghis Khan Era 七三二年十月 732th year, 10th month, (October 1937)

re post #75: A bit off subject, but an associated badge. Inscription is self-explanatory 中華民國二十五年十二月十二日 Republic of China twenty-five years December 12 蒋委員长西安蒙难紀念章 Chiang Kai Shek Kidnapped in Xi’an Commemorative Medal

A belated "thank you" to Nick for his "thesis". It's good to see the discussion he's promoting. As some of you are aware, Manchukuo medals/badges are a bit of an obsession here; this chart is one of highlights of my collection. The chart itself measures 1100mm x 840mm and is painted linen.

thank you for posting the pics - wish I had known about the auction
