    1. Good!!! Would love to see anything to do with Skinners horse !
    2. I have a loose Victoria Cross ribbon... Rick, if you have a loose cross laying around... could you whip it my way?
    3. ahhhh...Ed... you are showing your age !!! No MTV I guess tATu are indeed nubile.... I prefer a good corn fed country girls, but the young Moscow metro teenie look has many a (just) post pubescent male saying "I'd have a bit of that!!"
    4. Celebrating? I thought they were clapping along to a nifty tune of some sort, the looks of concentration point to this. Something along the lines of "Hava Nagila" sung by tATu. These skimpely clad, nubile young russian pseudo lesbians can be seen in the desktop computer screens doing their song to a pulsing Euro Techno Pop beat, hence the concentrated looks by these dirty old men. So....... ...what have I won ???
    5. Hi, apparently it is zink. It is not round but comes to a slightly pointy shape at the top and is mounted on a bow of some sort. Will be able to supply better details soon.
    6. the Secol A-S system is THE best. Costs about USD 1 a sheet. The top one on the page is the bees knees. http://www.conservus.ch/webexplorer.cfm?id...=1?id=63&tlid=1 It is a Brit company and is usually used by museums, private buyers seldom buy them. Polyester is the only way to go, but there are different kinds of polyester, different qualities. I did not buy the special binders, that would be going overboard, but I have some really big office binders. The sheets above will take an A4 doc with space to spare. There are even bigger ones.
    7. I have just been offered a cased red cross medal 3rd class with the cardboard overcase saying "ony to be opened by the awardee"... Have not seen it yet... what should I look for? Any ideas? I guess the case and overcase is much more intresting than tzhe medal itself? Thanks Chris
    8. Well, the Grandfather is no clearer... but I know those awards ;-)
    9. I am trying to figure out what the wifes grandfather is wearing here... could a Luftwaffe collector help? Thanks Chris http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3523...883entry36883
    10. I am not sure what is being worn here. EK1, he does not yet have his clasp to the EK1. one of the badges must be the NSFK glider badge... and the other? I know he had a license for small aircraft, when in the Luftwaffe he had a flight book for towing gliders and he did a little flying around in it to places... Maybe a Luftwaffe pilots badge? NSFK motor pilots badge? any ideas? Thanks Chris
    11. From the little I understand... the leistungs badge was an international award, he was 387th person to get it. the NSFK one replaced it? Or something like that. Best Chris
    12. Apparently the glider badges they had back then (one gull, two gulls, 3 gulls etc) are nowdays out of date. With modern gliders folks would get the higher levels right away.
    13. No MC or DSO, but this was from the Light Brigades field artillery battery. They fired the first shots of the crimean war and actually tried to take part in the charge, but because of the tarrain they had to give it up...
    14. To A Dragoon Guards officer... actually for a real swords out cavalry charge...
    15. Forgot these... This is to the commander of "Skinners horse" awarded for Afgahnistan 1919
    16. Indeed! Thanks, Chris
    17. Hi, shoot me a PM on Monday night to remind me to post these. Best Chris
    18. Is there anyone who can suggest a good researcher for Australian soldiers? Thanks Chris
    19. If I remember correctly the 1) was for bravery in an air raid, 2) had something to do with his job as Blockleiter and 3) as a locksmith.
    20. The rarest combination I ever had (documents) was 3 medals to one man 1) KVK2 with swords 2) KVK2 without swords 3) KVM Would have been a very intresting bar.
    21. Right you are. A 1 and 2 funny skwiggles...
    22. Hi Luft, Refering to the flattened top part of the pin which at first glance seems very post warish.
