    1. Some stolen from the web pics on his unit and their base at LZ Bronco.... (and surrounding area...
    2. Well, yesterday this was in a frame, today no longer. I defend my action with the argument that it is better preserved in am archive sheet than an old frame. Here for your viewing pleasure.....
    3. Hi, there are some docs with the group, some notes made by the gus who got it from the vet. But the best link is here http://www.hill4-11.org/indexframes-1.html There is even a photo album for his unit. The guy who runs the site kindly sent me the following about the day he was wounded.... Maine was in E-Troop. On 2 July 1969 E Troop 1st Cav and A Company engaged an UNSEF (unknown size enemy force) at BS841294 resulting in 15 NVA killed, 3 RPG's and 4 AK-47's were captured. Documents showed them to be a part of the 2nd MF Regt 3rd NVA Div. As a result of these Actions, SSGT Joseph H. Kelly and SGT Bobby L. McCoy were killed. Also on 2 July 1969 B Company engaged an estimated reinforced NVA Company at BS8426 and after a 5 hour battle, 20 NVA were KIA and 4 individual and 4 crew served weapons were found.
    4. Spans a number of services.... anyone guess who signed?
    5. OK, this is going to need a bit of Audience participation, it is a biiiiig group and non of it is scanned... so I will add to it tiny bit by tiny bit...... It starts as an Army Pionier
    6. According to the papers, the first was unnamed and stolen, the second was named and stolen, later recovered by the MPs, the third was applied for because of a spelling error on the second, the middle initial should have been an "N" but they had a "U". Best Chris
    7. Nope... his wound was kosher... took some AK rounds on 2 July 1969.... Have to run, will post more details later. best Chris
    8. Indeed... both are enraved to the same guy... with some small detail that bares mentioning....
    9. VerKuilen Ager Is getting me some Americal patches to complete the dispaly. its kinda far from Boer war and EK docs, but I always wanted a nice purple heart group and this has 2 named Purple hearts and is a good vietnam one. I grew up on Vietnam movies so it all kinda fits.... Its going to be hard explaining this to my german collector friends who are sometimes POd that I am selling off my German stuff "cos I need the money for other things"... then I go and buy this ;-)
    10. But he was only wounded once...... anyone care to guess how that is done?
    11. This guy got three purple hearts......
    12. OK... you wont get it from the above photo... but this should help...
    13. The wifes grandfather had a few photos dedicated to him by ex marine comrades... one was from D?nitz... this was another.... Who IS this man and why is he of interest to you Marine Badge collectors????
    14. Hi, an interesting point you make. All over Morocco there are vendors trying to sell old coins with 6 pointed stars saying "From the Jewish period"... but as you point out... when all those coins were made, there was no state with the 6 pointed star as a symbol, so I guess at the time it WAS indeed moroccan.
