    1. Observe: A) Heads of eagle B) Wing feathers, note subtle layering and number on the Schickle standard from RR; then abserve that there are (1) more feathers on the ebay bar & (2) the two rows of wings are filed straight across, not layered C) Thickness and shape of swastika D) Look at the shape of the numeral "1" and "3"
    2. I continue to disagree... the device does not match your samples. the head on the "eBay" bar is like a nub with a point, the swastika has a casting defect. The wing feathers (count 'em) do NOT match your sample. Sorry, I will disagree with my twin here...
    3. None. IMO, a total parts piece, excluding the '39 repeat device that looks like a cast copy to me.
    4. Fun to see how far & wide my old collection scattered. I didn't save a lot, the only ribbon bar I have still as one of the handfull of SS rune bars that are real
    5. BTW... that was NOT a Saxon Godet Bar. It was a Prussian. The precedence, lack of an Honor Cross or LS Award suggests Prussia to me. especially since the St. Henry was a bronze-gilt one. This type of 'spangen-stuch' SHRK is something i have seen maybe once in an actual Saxon group..... usually, at least in my experience; this version of the award was a purchased piece from another state. I don't think any Saxon would mount the awards in that precedence unless it was post 1934... and if so, there should be at least an HK & LSA on the bar.
    6. Well, I'll add in here too. I'm surprised no-one commented on Tom's medal bar. Note the edges of the bar... see that raised lip? I've seen an awful lot of pre-1900 bars... but I have only seen that little feature on Bavarian bars. Here's another example ex-me
    7. Your reverse pix isn't showing. What color are the eagles on the 2 LS awards? Thanks
    8. Interesting Eric... the ribbon and paper seem to have real (and appropriate) wear for a very early piece. The printing (is it actually printed, or hand-written) seems to have contextual issue; but I have seen addresses from makers like this. The cross itself doesn't match any of the above and does not look consistent with any 1813 EK2 I have seen/handled from any period. If it's legit (as that is always possible)... it's a very, very late piece (possibly even 1930+). In which case it wouldn't really match with the paper and/or the ribbon. If you look at the ribbon itself, the wear is quite consistent of ribbon made 1820-1860... the acid eats away and damages the ribbon color exactly as shown... Folding pattern and paper is consistent with how these crosses were packaged. At least from what I have seen.
    9. No, but the transgression is understood. There's currently another set on ebay. medal bar, Ribbon Bar, loose decorations and documents.... named group. Split six-ways from Sunday, every item as a single lot including individual documents.... The horror....
    10. Doesn't matter how often I see this... it infuriates me every time. Of course being sold as 2 lots... who knows where the rest of the orders went.
    11. Hence my list of "??????????" Clearly meant to mimic an Observer badge, but of what, for what or why.... anyone's guess. I have seen "copies" of Imperial Badges in all shapes and sizes. Some larger, some smaller. So oversize doesn't really tell me anything. And as far as a one-of.... doubt that very much based strictly on the tooling expenditure required to make that stamping. We've just not seen any others!
    12. I think this one is interesting. the ribbons, wrap-style, backing, etc. are all spot-on, even if the precedence is not. But that's based strictly on the lousy images shown. The precedence is anything but correct, whether frack bar or not.
    13. This one has actually been around a bit. it's pretty distinctive with the damages... will try and find my saved pix. No guarantees, have had some computer woes last few months.
    14. Check out Detlev Niemann's sales page for today. Kind of sad when a US MOH group to a highly decorated soldier is sold in Europe. I do not fault Herr Niemann at all. The US Laws on this subject have caused this amazing piece of history to be sucked out of the air and gone forever to a private collector God only knows where.....
    15. Hi Christophe, the Commander's Cross was one of the few I did not have boxed. I considered myself lucky to have had one at all. Really regret parting with that particular collection. (as well as every other single thing that has unfortunately had to come and go. I am a champagne collector on a crystal light budget)
