    1. Yes, there existed the breast badge version, as well.
    2. It is a "rohamtüzér" unit badge. Probably for a garrison hat according to the small size of it. Rohamtüzér can be translated as "Sturm-Artillerie" or some kind of panzerjäger (as far as Iknow)
    3. They are military "excellency" badges form the 1950's they are the more common pieces. In this damaged state their price could be 60-65 EUR per piece here in Hungary.
    4. The unknown cross is a 6 years long service cross for NCOs on a combatants' ribbon.
    5. Two videos I made recently on WW2 hungarian uniform items: M1926 parade uniform (video presentation) M1939 officers' tunic (video presentation)
    6. Service tunic of Col. Gusztáv Iványi of the motorized transport troops.
    7. An ordnance major's white tunic. (The tunic belongs to one of my friends the photos were made by me.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A military judge major's tunic. The colour of the collar patches is just like the ordnance ones', but since the tunic has the nametag on the inner pocket, it is no doubt a military judge.
    8. This thread seems to be dead... Here's a generals' staff tunic I once owned, with the rank Major. A nice example of a greatcoat. Branch is engineer, rank is unknown (stripes missing from the sleeves), (I sold it a couple of years ago...)
    9. Very nice beginner's collection! I love especially the Signum Laudis with swords.
    10. Today I had the chance to take a look at the posts from one the court's computers and Gordon was right: the images in the first post didn't came through, but the imageshack ones worked fine. I am happy you can see them at last. :)
    11. And one tunic of a male officer from the same age, rank 1st Lieutenant:
    12. Sorry, Gordon. I don't know what the problem is... I paste the links to the images here as they were posted above: Together: http://noob.hu/2012/05/23/upload00.jpg The service tunic: http://noob.hu/2012/05/23/upload04.jpg http://noob.hu/2012/05/23/upload05.jpg The parade tunic: http://noob.hu/2012/05/23/upload01.jpg http://noob.hu/2012/05/23/upload02.jpg http://noob.hu/2012/05/23/upload03.jpg The coat: http://noob.hu/2012/05/23/upload06.jpg http://noob.hu/2012/05/23/upload07.jpg And I'd welcome any info on the pieces above, as well as I would like to see your ones, too.
    13. Prison Guard Major - Female There is a service tunic with skirt (and grey shirt with dark blue tie), a parade tunic, and a wintercoat in the set. All pieces are in very nice condition, the buttons and shoulderboards are simply flawless, as if these clothes hadn't been put on more than a few times. First, the service tunic and a couple of details: You can see the dark blue piping on the top of the collar and the same coloured lining on the shoulderboard. The gilt button on the latter has the 1957-type crest. On the collar, you can see the branch sign of the prison/correction authorities (The sign is identical to the one on the left side of the collar; a shield with a §-sign and two rifles crossed behind the shield). On the right bust there are two loopholes for (probably a qualification) badge. The parade tunic: The tunic differs from the first in both fabric and pattern, but also has the nice buttons, boards and signs. It has the loopholes for the badge, as well. The third one is the wintercoat: It has the same accessories as the tunics, but doesn't have the dark blue piping around the collar. It was made from a very heavy, thick fabric. Once it had a removable padding, but it did not came with the piece to me. And some details:
    14. Da mihi factum, dabo tibi ius

    15. Nice stuff, Peter! I loved that greatcoat; it looks like (almost) mint condition...
    16. The ribbons are not exactly the same as the Horthy ones. They are different in fabric, color, and measures of the white and red stripes, too. And with time they fade in a different way the Horthy ones do. A lot of Horthy-era collectors wish they were the same...
    17. Not an interesting article... but here's the translation: (I hope my english was not too poor...) "Ernő Nagy, awardee of 'Order for the Socialist Homeland', who had been a member of the (Hungarian Socialist Workers') Party since 1928, died at the age of 74. The cremation and the Memorial event afterwards will take place in the Pesterzs?bet Cemetery on the 20th of September at 3pm. - XX. District Committee of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party"
    18. Cimbineus, Your posts - just like the presentation of these images - are fantastic! (As they are on the 'medals' board, as well.) Thanks for all of them! Would you be so kind as to post some of your pieces in connection with jurisdiction? With miniatures... (Sorry, I couldn't stand asking for them...)
    19. There are 3 major movies I know about, they're titled '?szak fel?!', 'Kelet fel?!' ?s 'D?l fel?!'. (Northward!, Eastward! and Southward! in english) They were made during the "glorious" recapturing of Upper-Hungary, Transylvania and the Southern parts, for propaganda purpose. Hungarian vehicles and uniforms can be observed very well while watching these documentaries. They are usually available on DVDs at nationalist book- and DVD-shops and other sellers.
    20. Yeah, you don't have to tell me - I live in Hungary. My grandfather's brother was a Ludovika student, too, though he never graduated. (Family gossips say he was quite a man bound by his own rules. He had done something the academy staff hadn't liked and he had been sent away.) He also ended up and died in G?teborg in 1976 or so. Before and during the first years of the war he was a levente-leader/instructor. The guys there (nor his brother) didn't like him too much because of his strict rules and behavior... They called him "levente-general". Unfortunately there's nothing left from him. It's good for you to have a lot of your ascendant's belongings in excellent shape.
    21. Excellent and rare pieces! Grats! Do you have your grandpa's soldbook or other paper items? And could you make a photo of the left side of the bocskai?
