No need to be sorry and thanks for the reply, it was an unknown item amongst the other militaria he had, some english and some german. Its neither use nor ornament for myself, but why some "crudely executed fantasy item" , what would be its purpose, seems a lot of work for fantasy.

Hello all, been left this by my uncle and interested as to what it is, its @ 50mm diameter, on the rear there is a pinclasp attached but might have been added later, under the coat of arms it reads GOTT MIT UNS, much appreciated if anyone has any info, thanks in advance
