    1. Hello everyone... been searching the forum on this type of medal. I recentely picked it up because it seemed like a good deal for such a pretty medal.

I have tried to research online but haven't found anything definitive. It appears this was made from 1868-1984. Is there anyway to get a feel for when this could have been manufactured?

      Thank you!

      Scott

    2. Hello.. would you happen to have a picture of the edge??? This looks odd to me but I am not expert.. I just looked at mine and it appears to have more of a "stamped" look

The only thing I can tell you about lower priced items being faked is that a counterfeiter can get away longer with counterfeiting $5 bills than $100 bills...

Again, not saying yours is a fake but would love to see the edge.

      just my two cents..

      Thank you,

      Scott

    3. Hello all,

This is the Variation 2, Silver Plated Alloy, with 15 ribbons on the Seal.

I am looking to see what the forum thinks. I hope you can see in the pics. Of course online I can only see observe and back pics...

The other fun fact of this medal is that the observe is actually the side w the text. Many recipients altered to show the Seal of the Soviet Union side.... It looks like mine is either a reproduction or the original owner had it changed around.

      Anyone got any comments?

      Thank you,

      Scott

    4. Hi Timo,

It is also a pleasure to see you as well!! You gave me a lot of keen insight on this medal. The thing is that I have never see another even close to this. I would think it's perhaps a reproduction of some sort but there are signs it is real too.

You are correct about this forum... I did a search on St. George Cross and there are a lot of folks on here into that award!!!!

I am also into other medals and such than the TR so this is going to be a great forum to be a part of!

I do believe everything you said it true. I just want to know if anyone else has seen this? I doubt I have a one of a kind St. George Cross. Does it make it worthless, etc?

      Thank you,

      Scott

    5. Hello ya'all!

New member to this forum but not to collecting.. :) I am pleased to be here!

I have a question on what I think is a St George Cross. This was with some Czech Medals I purchased. They "supposedly" came from the same soldier named "Joseph Stransk." The Czech Medals all checked out to be WWII Allie types.. This Cross has my kind of stymied. I looked at the crosses in this forum and all seem to have serial #'s on them. On the back mine does say, "Class" in Czech but doesn't have anything stamped.. In fact I am so lost I can't even tell what color this is supposed to be? Any help or feedback would be most grateful!

      Thank you,

      Scott
