Hello, I have been researching the names on my Church war memorial - and interesting my great uncle name was on it as a man who served. He was an engineer by trade and my family always thought he was must have been in the Royal Engineers. I have found out he was awarded the MBE in 1920 as a Works Manager in the Glasgow Steel Roof Company. I assume this was awarded for his civilian service to the war and never did any military service? I have been trying to find out where I could find some more information on what he did via newspapers etc, and I was wondering if any members know where I could start looking. I live in Northern Ireland and do not have access to any Glasgow newspaper achieves. Jonny
