I was one of X company 45 Commando, who went up to the Fort on the main pass, on the morning of 21June. We had spent the night at Champion Lines waiting to go.About 8 of us got into the left hand Fort. We had heard the rumours of the atrocities and were determined to do our bit for the Lads. We spent the day shooting at any movement whilst being sniped at continuously. I always try to keep the memory of those who died in peoples minds. Every 20th of June I tell people about it. To be honest no one apart from the odd person now and then has any interest but I will never let them be forgot as long as I am still here. I would love to go to the 50th anniversary next year, to show my respect. If anyone one this thread could keep me informed I would be most grateful.
