    1. Pierce. The evening dress TK badge was just a variation designed specifically for that particular piece of uniform. No special meaning. These are very rare and have been heavily faked.
    2. Latest pick-up. 17th Lancers pearlware mess dish by Spode, c. 1825. Spode made the coronation tableware for George IV. Note the bones ABOVE the skull ........................
    3. Dates to period just after the Munich Putsch. Nazi Party was outlawed then, so called themselves 'Hitler-Bewegung'.
    4. Could be a standard '800' 1921 tank stickpin ........................ married (unofficially) to the 'arrowhead & number' ?? I've seen similar 'arrowhead & number' badges before in a book. Just can't place them.
    5. I agree. Looks to me like a poor quality cast thing. The real FK Elisabeth TKs looked more like this ..................
    6. Hello Mervyn. You're right re. the pension. Those going off at 25 years got a lot less than those sticking it out for the whole 30 years. All to do with the pension 'multiplier' calculations (boring!!). A PC I knew once asked what it would cost him in pension entitlements if he retired a couple of months before his 30 was up. (He had another job in the offing). It would have cost him over £40k in lump sum losses ................... needless to say, he turned down the job offer and finished his 30 !! Nice to see a George VI Police LSGC. There aren't many of these around. My old granddad had one.
    7. Thanks. Stefan. Confirms the skull as an unusual early Brunswick one for HR17. Probably a veteran thing.
    8. Latest skull addition. Fire-gilded brass, c. 1900. 5cm in height ............. Appears semi-Prussian, but came from a Brunswick estate. Looks like it has 'three bones'. The other pix show similar 'three bones' TKs .............. and a Brunswick 'Black Duke' variant worn on early busbies etc. Another odd one.
    9. Paul. The paint may be new .................. but it looks old !! REALLY old !! Relic helmet artistry at its very best !! I've looked at this shield through a 10 x jeweller's loupe, and the detailing is all still there !! Fantastic.
    10. Paul. Made last week !! See the 'Painting'/'Coat of Arms' threads. ;)
    11. Some additional pix of mine .............. The attention to detail here is mindblowing. Steve ............... you're a bl00dy genius !! And your close-up eyesight must be phenomenal. ;)
    12. I'm dumbstruck at the amount of work that has to go into this.
    13. Steve has just completed this M18 helmet showing the shield of my Arms ............... fantastic work. Love the 'distressed' condition !! I'll let the pix speak for themselves, but by way of brief explanation the shield has been painted, after the style of contemporary Munich heraldic meister Otto Hupp, on the left side of the helmet only, in the manner used by several Freikorps formations (e.g. the Grenzschutz Ost shown also), 1919-20. Many thanks again, Steve !! :)
    14. Mervyn. I noticed these little details re. the speech as well. Very thoughtful of those who organised the background décor.
