    1. Among my last finds there was this medal. I know the French similar medals, but didn't knew this one. Could anyone tell me what it was given for and would the box match the medal?
    2. First one's I get to see , thanks for posting! |<ris
    3. Thanks Jef, saddly no name, no history... |<
    4. Very nice present! I think I have buttons of that compagny...!? cheers |<ris
    5. I have lots of Belgian military pictures I need to sort out one day,but here is one that caught my eye. What would be the British medal be that he is wearing next to his CdG?
    6. A tin miniature of Ostende - Dover steamer, Prince Albert.
    7. Here is the passengers list of the people on the Baudouinville in 1959. The list mentions my fathers and mothers name, I was there too in a way......, my mum being pregnant at the time. The story didn't last long, my mum had to returrn before the end of the year, because of the troubles in Congo ....december is when I was born. Some of the people on the list are still friends with my parents, and they see each other on a regular base.
    8. I have no idea , honestly!
    9. I do not collect paper items because I am aware how "easy" they can be faked! Here is part of the collection of a good friend of mine who has over 500 different printing presses, probably the biggest private collection world wide. I used to work for him and we empty many old printing stores, of all times, holding the original paper, ink stock's, letter caracters and so on........
    10. They are for sale at the momment, still 13 hours to go. http://veiling.catawiki.nl/kavels/1906401-lot-van-11-trench-art-hulzen-14-18-wo1 It is a shame DHL NL just ajusted theyre rate (for 10 kg parcels) from 30 to 50€ for the US....
    11. Thanks Paul! "souvenir Dixmude Petronella Jansen 1921" and "souvenir Ypres Theodoor Dedrool 1918" and "souvenir la guerre 1914 1915" and "Souvenir l'Yser 1916-1917"
    12. Not from the market, but from a house clearing. Had a nice suprise when checking what I exactly bought; among the exotical spears and arrows; a swagger army stick ...
    13. I am rearranging my first militaria showcase, with my Belgian stuff this time. Like I already stated; I like the way things were dispayed in our national museum. But I had difficulties in displaying caps on stands, so I made slightly conical ovals out of a very thick MDF, fixed them on a pole with a foot and that is it. To me it works well! Have to camouflate the base, but some extra military stuff will take care of that problem very soon. ;-) |<ris
    14. We are at the outlook for a other house, (yes; thise one became to small!),and I must say the space needed for the collection is part of the priorities to us! But hard to explain to a estate seller.... cheers |<ris
    15. They are quiet expensive new! I would sujest you to keep a eye open on second hands, flee markets or car boot sales; that is how I got mine for 35 € ! Like I said before; the only connection port I manage to find is a ethernet / Lan port, but I didn't continue my quest......still taking my pic's from the screen image....... |<ris
    16. I love the "side by side" and "by side by side". Show case's containing lots of stuff, and hardly organized, is how I like it! I am just reworking my Belgian show case and I am having a problem for displaying cap's over uniform stands.... BTW, great stands and great shako's!
    17. I am ready to give you a 100% gain! (lol!!) ;-) |<ris
    18. A old 1 by 1 m ship's model;
    19. It is ok, I just found it; A other question; could I use it? cheers |<ris
    20. Hey Jock, I seem to remember it was you who posted a pic with lads in uniforms (I think a panzer guy...!?), women AND with a Shell gasoil handpump, behind a low fence, in the background...... Could you find that pic for me again please? cheers |<ris
    21. Image quality is very good and quiet different from the pic, here! Just found out that masking the lights with a sort of towel paper gives a good result for the light reflexion matter. And the only connection port I manage to find is a ethernet / Lan port; not sure what I can do with it...I think I'll get more info at the local PC shop in the village.
