    1. ...or sports medals.. like also stated! I can't find any examples right now.... |<ris
    2. Hard to tell, when not marked! I had die's of US buttons that have been made in Antwerp, just after the war. They can be made anywhere in the world! The two rounds next to the loop, revels a rather modern technique of manufacture. cheers |<ris
    3. To me it belongs to a carnival order. I have to leave now, but I'll try to find a example later on today or tomorrow. cheers |<ris

    6. Hey Mervyn; it was a good day out! The flare gun's are German and American for the bronze/ golden one. A pistol I never heard of before, but it is a PARACHUTE SIGNAL GUN, VK-M12
    7. This threat can include any finds coming from car booth sales, house clearings, auction's or fair's. To start with my flee market finds of past WE, including some militaria! cheers |<ris
    8. I have a quiet similar thing in my collection, that will puzzle me till the end of my days. Well similar..... the only similarity is that a headdress also had a fold newspaper behind the sweatband, .....that speaks in a certain way..... Here is the story; from the same house clearing in Antwerp, came a German officers pickelhaube and a named British War Medal for WWI given to a Belgian lady agent. The newspaper is Dutch and one of the articles on the page treats about a spy story going on in Antwerp....... I didn't do the house clearing my self, and don't know the exact provenance, so no way to speak to any witness.... cheers |<ris
    9. Interesting! If it could only speak..... cheers |<ris
    10. Couldn't help you! But the French have rather similar ribbons. cheers |<ris
    11. It was dismantled, because it became controversial! Or not "political correct"........anymore.....! Before that it stand at the entrance of the heretofore colonial high school.
    12. Just got a other one in. It is on the right. Not marked either, and a cut of blade, but that is part of it's history.
    13. Not just anybody's collection! L’EXTRAORDINAIRE COLLECTION NAPOLÉONIENNE DU PALAIS PRINCIER DE MONACO http://www.osenat.fr/html/index.jsp?id=21003&np=1&lng=fr&npp=150&ordre=&aff=5&r=
    14. I managed to solve one part of the enigma! The guy is a lieutenant colonel of the Garde Civique. Only need to find his name. cheers |<ris
    15. Still trying to identify the chap, so any help is welcome. It seems to me the buttons look like Garde Civique... The medal he wears is a long service medal for administrative services. The bust is signed by Frantz Vermeylen and dated 1887.
    16. Always loved this swords. Slowly building up the collection. Non are marked.
    17. Love the work of the ring maker! |<ris
    18. That particular fire engine is a quiet rare model from that collection. I must say those cars have a kind of fantasy look, not really copy's of any existing type. .|<ris
    19. Le Capitain Memil, Commandant de la compagnie de Ma(o)r(s)(che) ....!
    20. Just got these in. Sadly not in its original box, but the box they are in seems a time piece made especially to hold the boy's "treasure"! Part of the wirschafstwunder, made by Schuko in US zone........and sold by a notorious toy shop in Brussels and Antwerp, I remember my grandfather who hated it when it came from that shop, ....because the guy collaborated during the war. ....according to him... ;-)
    21. Hey Mervin, yes of course! That wasn't the reason I posted! Just mentioned the fact I have the PS, if needed for... any purpose. Cheers |<ris
    22. A similar (if not the same!?)message appeared on a Flemish/Dutch WWI forum, in Flemish! I have got a screen print if needed! cheers |<ris
