    1. I don't think words are cheap. Germany has accepted responsibility for what they have done, which I believe is important. Other nations who have committed similar actions refuse to formally apologize and ignore their responsibility. One nation in the Pacific Ocean comes to mind.

    9. Marie, Your English is fine and thanks for posting here. Do you have any photos of you grandfather? Sadly Rick Research passed away several years ago. Rick's ribbon bar collection will be coming to auction in German in June. I can get you information about the auction if you wish. Do you have the book?
    10. What documents or other artifacts do you have that can possibly be attributed to him? Would you post them?
    11. During the Vietnam period officers were commission in a variety of ways. I know of two officers in Vietnam who had the GCM because of the pre-commissioning time. The name is rather common and maybe hard to pin down.
    12. That is going to be very hard to find. If he was not KIA then not much information is available. Have you googled his name and Vietnam together?
