    1. I addition to collecting medal bars and uniforms I have a thing for document groups. When I found this group in Germany I could not pass it up. The first doc is for the Sachen Meiningen Ehrenkreuz for service in war 1914/15. I think that the doc is rather rare. The group is to Oberleutnant der Reserve Fritz Koch.
    2. Joe, Yes it is an eye-poper. I think it needs to stay in my collection thou. The mounting style is very, very rare. I have only seen it once before.
    3. Another recent pickup in Germany. This is a 4 medal bar for a Saxon EM, I think. The medals are the 1914 EK2, Saxon-Albert Medal with swords, Hindenberg and Saxon Landwehr LSC 2nd class. What is very rare is the mounting style. The ribbons kind of hook on to separate attachments. Really cool!!
    4. One of my new purchases while I was in Germany. The case solidly built and has an exact cut out for the 6 medal bar. The medals are 1914 EK2, LSC 12 years, SW Africa Medal, China Medal, Kaiser Centennial, and FAM. The last medal confuses me as I am not sure of the ribbon. Any thought?
    5. I see what you mean. The only thing I can think of is the these were done by hand and that this pattern is just the preference of the person doing the work.
    6. One of my purchases from my trip to Germany. I can ID some of the ribbons, but need help on the others. Thanks. 1. Saxon w/ swords ? 2. Saxon ? 3. EK2 4. ? 5. Red Eagle Order 6. Hindenburg 7. Kaiser Centential 8. ? [attachmentid=13126]
    7. Hello All, I hear back from Detlev Niemann and he has received the CDs. So if you are in Europe and have been waiting to purchase the CD you can now contact Detlev. His website is WWW.DETLEV-NIEMANN.DE.
    8. I will be at the Union, NJ show from 9-12:00 on Saturday September 17. I will have several copies of Stephen Previetria's new book "Prussian Blue". If you have not ordered a copy an want one please let me know. I am not making a profit on these and will sell them for the standard price of $149.95. Please reply here so I know how many copies to bring.
    9. Rick, Thanks for the plug. Since I offered the CD for sale on this forum and the other forum I have sold almost 10 CDs. I am surprised have I not sold more in the US. I do not know wheather imperial collectors in the US value the research. Some of the ranklists on the CD are very hard to find. The Navy Honor Ranklist, when it can be found, sells for over $350. I don't think the price of the CD is too high. Maybe when Detlev Niemann has these on his update Friday September 16 it will sell well over in Germany.
    10. By now I am sure most of you are aware of my CD called Rangliste on CD. If not look on the e-stand and in this forum. I know some of you maybe questioning the quality of the scans and how useable the CD is. Next Saturday I will be at the Union, NJ show from about 9:00 - 12:00. I will bring my laptop and CDs. I can show you the CD and how easy it is to work with. If you are interested just reply here if you want. I will not have a table at the show but I will be the only one walking around with a laptop computer.
    11. Prior to starting the project I spoke with several people in Germany in regards to the copyright issue. I was told that I would be wasting my time to contacting any archives or agency in Germany. I was mindfull of the issue.
    12. I forgot to mention that the Adobe PDF files on the CD are MAC compatible. Also Adobe has a MAC version of Adobe Reader.
