    1. Yes, There will be a Volume 2. It is in production already. It will contain: 1897, 1898, 1899, 1902 Prussian Army Ranklist 1901 Saxon Army Ranklist 1900 and 1903 Bavaria Army Military Handbook 1903 Navy Ranklist Are there any other ranklists that I could put on the CD that would make it more attractive. Volume 2 should be available in 30-60 days. I may have it available at the show in Gunzenhausen Germany the second week of October. If you are interest please let me know.
    2. There is available a new research tool for researching and Imperial Germany WWI officer. I will not go into detail here, but check out this link in the sales stand; http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2270 You can purchase 8 Imperial German Ranklists.

    4. I agree the Hindenburg Cross is not an attractive medal. Although it does serve a purpose for dating the bar and also for helping ID the owner. If the Hindenburg Cross is on the bar then the owner survived the war.
    5. An interesting idea. While I agree that engraving on the medals is not the way to go, I understand your desire to preserve your families legacy. One solution is to use a ink that is detectable under ultraviolet light only. Another solution, if you are worried about the items being sold and broken up is to will to collection to a museam in Germany.
    6. I am going to the show in Gunzenhausen the second weekend in October. I have tentative plans to be in Hamburg October 1-3 and then traveling to Berlin. The people I am meeting with in Hamburg maybe unavailable so I am looking for something else to do in North Germany prior to going to Berlin. Any suggestions?
    7. I just received the new Nimmergut price guide. What do you think of the prices? For example the 1914 EK2 with ribbon, combattants or non, is listed at 25 and 35 euros.
    8. I have a medalbar traced to Hauptmann Fritz Schubert 27.1.07 Major IR 71, 28.11.14 Char Oberstleutnant commaner of IR 67 during war 4.Magdeburgisches IR67 11.3.18 ? 4.2.19, died 9.11.32. Does anyone have a Reg. History for either IR 71 or 67? I would like to find a picture of Schubert.
    9. I purchased from Detlev Niemann's Friday update the 4 medal Hannover bar. It contains the following medals: 1. Hannover. Military medal 1841-1866 "Behning" 2. Langensalza medal "F.Behning" 3. Campaign medal 1870-71 f?r comb. 4. Centenaermedal The first two medals are engraved on the rim to F. Behning. Any one have a Hannover State and Court book and can provide any information on this guy?
    10. You have a 1918 Bayern Rangliste? I did not know that it existed. Would you post a scan of the title page? Does the RL show wartime awards?
    11. Since most of the German officer corp was retired after WWI and they were civilians in 1934 why would they bother to have the Hindenburg medal mounted on their medal bar when they were civilians?
    12. A recent find with the following medals: 1. 1914 EK2 2. Baden WW1 War Aid 3. Hindenburg combatants 4. RAO4 5. 25yr LSC 6. Kaiser Centennial 7. Baden 1902 Jubilee Per Rick we have this down to one 1914 candidate, a Hauptmann Seitz, from IR 170. He is the only one in the Baden Regiments (14 Army Corps) that has the appropriate time and did not receive the Baden Lion award or Prussian Crown Order. What makes it impossible to nail it to Seitz is that we can not confirm that he received the 1902 Baden Jubilee. So for now it is just another nice bar. If anyone has a regimental history of the IR 170 please let me know.
    13. A recent purchase. Rick L and I think the bar belonged to a diplomat in the 30's. Since the Greek medal was established after 1936 the bar would have to be dated after 1936. The medals are: 1. Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914 combattant ribbon 2. Hindenburg Cross with Swords 3. Austria: Military Merit Cross with Military Decoration (pre-1938 mounting precendence) 4. Bulgaria: Civil Merit Order 1st Class in gold (silver gilt) with Crown 5. Greece: Phoenix Order Knight Cross, Republican Period (est 1936) 6. Yugoslavia: Order of the Yugoslavia Crown, Knight 7. Hungary: Order of Merit Cross 3rd Class The Imperial awards give almost to clue as to the bars owner. Any suggestions on how to research the bar are appreciated.
    14. Hello to all. I just join and I see many familiar user names. I look forward to doing some nice posts and working with everyone. For those who don't know me I collect Imperial German medalbars, uniforms, etc., basicly anything Imperial German. What is the maximum size in pixels for posting pictures? Once I get this down I can start posting.
