Hello Again Everyone, After almost a year I have managed to list all my tinnies, National and Gau WHWs, and many and varied miscellaneous Third Reich items on www.winterhilfswerk.com. It's sad to see everything go, but such is life. The web shop includes not just my items but things (mostly tinnies) sent to me by consignors. There are over 1,800 total listings, including 189 tinnies, 300 National WHWs, and almost 1,000 Gau WHWs. Almost all of my Gau WHWs are priced lower than the European sellers. It may cost more to ship from the US, but you can save money by buying multiple items at my better prices. Thanks for your attention. I look forward to filling holes in your collections. There are not only high-end pieces, but I am now trying to list more items at $10.00 and under to make it easier for more to enjoy owning a piece of history. As of the writing of this message, I have 168 National WHWs, 253 Gau WHWs, 118 Tinnies, 54 Tag der Wehrmacht, 50 paper and metal door plaques, and many more items listed. Hi Everyone, After many years of collecting and nobody to whom I want to leave my collection, it’s time to sell it off, though just a bit at a time. I’ve been busy listing my National WHW, Gau WHW, Tag der Wehrmacht, VDA, DJH, and all the other organizations covered in my first two books: Winterhilfswerk National Street/House Collections and More – A Collector’s Guide; and also Donation Badges, Pins & Pendants of the Third Reich. Many of the actual items pictured in the books will be for sale. I also have tinnies, paper items, and all kinds of other Third Reich items. This process will take years as I probably have one of the largest accumulations of WHWs in the US and I need to start selling now. It’s been a fun hobby, but it’s time to let it go. I checked with my tinnie expert and he says the last two look good to him, so count those two tinnies as legit. Joe

These two I'm not so sure of. The first one is Hermann Bauer Schwaeb. Gmuend. The finish on the front does not look right to me. The second one is K. Frank Nurnberg. The pin attachment looks strange. It could just be a mis-strike. Does anyone have examples of these two makers for comparison? If you collect the different makers of these 1936 tinnies and want more, please let me know by PM. Hi Troy et al, I just received a lot of 100 Mayday / Arbeit / Party Day tinnies from a dealer in Germany who was just looking to get rid of them, which is what I'll probably end up doing, when I saw your post. Hi John, I agree with you completely as far as selling very many books to European collectors. The base price for the hardcover book is $84.95. The $44.00 difference between the $84.95 and the web store price of $128.95 is mostly the outrageous shipping cost charged by the US Postal Service from the US to Europe. The packaging costs added to the USPS postage cost is minimal. Shipping to the US is only $7.00 because the USPS offers Media Mail (book rate) within the country. We always figured International sales would be a problem. We looked into multiple shipping options and could not find anything cheaper. The base price of the Wire-O bound version is $74.95, but again the shipping costs to Europe are ridiculous. Sorry about that. Joe

Hello Everyone, After two years of work, our latest book 'Third Reich Tinnie Collecting', is finally available. This is the third book in our series of "little" Third Reich collectables after "Winterhilfswerk Street/House Collections & More - A Collector's Guide', and 'Donation Badges, Pins & Pendants of the Third Reich'. The Tinnie book is 8.5 by 11 inches and has over 3,000 tinnies on 410 pages in 29 chapters sorted by organization or event. The photos of the tinnies are in color, perhaps making it the first large English language Tinnie book in color. Each Tinnie's photo is accompanied by a transcription of the text in German and the translation in English. Again, this also may be a first for a Tinnie book. Also included are values in US Dollars. The book comes in two versions, a Wire-O bound version available immediately, and a hard cover version available in about four weeks. This tinnie is Tieste 36-04. I'm not 100% sure if this one is real or fantasy. I'm thinking the International Olympic Committee may have frowned upon the combination of the Swastika and the Olympic Rings on an official tinnie. Could it be a non-sanctioned piece? Most tinnies with the Olympic rings don't seem to have Swastikas, though a few do. Thoughts on this one? Thanks. Joe

Hi Everyone, I've been sorting through my stickpins, randomly acquired over the years, usually mixed in with lots of WHWs or Tinnies. This DBV eagle stickpin has me stumped. Doing a Google search of DBV Eagle Germany gave me hits in six Organizations with DBV initials on the first page alone and none had an eagle as their symbol. It has 800 on the back. Deutsche Bauerverband - farmers Deutscher Bibliotheksverband - librarians Deutscher Beton- und Bautechnik-Verein - building contractors Deutscher Burgerverein - castles Deutscher Bridge Verein - the game of Bridge Deutscher Baseball and Softball Verband - baseball & softball Anyone have any idea on this one?
