    1. The medal! It may be a tad hard finding a P&H price for the actual revolution! Cheers
    2. Howdy yall, I was wondering what the optimal price range for an October Revolution would be. I am talking a real one here as well! Cheers
    3. My dad's boss has one just like that. I saw it when I was looking through his knife collection. I know nothing about it though
    4. I'm not too sure about ebay. There are a lot of fakes out there so you have to do your research and really know what you are buying. All the best with your hunting, Tom
    5. Kane, There is a soviet colonels uniform going now on ebay for US $199.99, and it finishes on the 27th of Dec. This is what the seller is saying about it "Armor Colonels Uniform. Tunic is complete with rank insignia, fourteen ribbons, shoulder boards, collar insignia and tank badge. Trousers approx. size 33 and tunic size appros. 40. Used lightly but nice condition." Here is the web page if you want to check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Armor-Colonels-Unif...VQQcmdZViewItem Cheers, Tom
    6. Please forgive my ignorance but did Singapore have a flag change after the 1940's? On the medal, the flag has a sun motif but the modern day flag is red and white and has a cresent moon with five stars. It is a very interesting medal. I have never heard of Meissen Medals before.
    7. Yes, we do have IKEAs Down Under, though we dont have Michaels. I am planning to start a thread with pictures of my baby collection but I dont know any good image hosting websites. Does anybody know of any? Cheers Doc, Gerd and Order_Of_Victory Tom
    8. Hey Doc. Gerd (my medal collecting guru) said that he uses IKEA frames. He attaches some silk on the background and drills holes in the pressed-wood backplate. In another frame he has a medal and a ribbonbar pressed agains the glass holding them there. He also says that he has another frame called a RIBBA he uses. At the moment i have Medal for the 100th Anniversary of Lenin?s Birth, Medal for Veterans of Labour, Engineering Institute graduate, circa 1950s-60s, Combined Arms Specialist, Master, 1960s-80s, 60 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR, 50 years Anniversary badge of the Liberation of the Ukraine and three other medals that i am yet to indentify. They are all in a shoebox and that doesn't do justice to the medals. If I am unable to buy them I could always make them myself (i'm pretty nifty with my hands). Cheers, Tom
    9. Thanks, I will be sure to. Gerd said that youhave some tips on displaying medals. I am just starting out and I just dont know how to display my fleging collection. Any tips would be appreciated. Cheers Tom
    10. It's a right, Gerd has told me that it is a 50 years Anniversary of the Liberation of the Ukraine badge. Thanks Gerd! Cheers Tom
    11. Thanks Gerd! I noticed on your display that you have a Medal for Veterans of Labour (I think). I have one aswell though mine is a darker colour. Does this mean that it is a different class or just in need of a polish? Cheers Tom
    12. Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone has any tips on mounting, showing or cleaning medals. Thanks, Tom
    13. http://aycu32.webshots.com/image/5071/2002...63100642_rs.jpg This is my Engineering Institue badge. The picture is extremely poor quality (bear with me). It includes on the screw plate the "original" "Monetnya Dvor", though my medal cannot be a 1950s-60s one because it has a distinctive cross-hatching on the back (unable to be scanned) and two drepressions instead of one. That leaves the Engineering Institute graduate 1970 and the Engineering Institute 1970's-80's. The Engineering Institute graduate 1970 is very similar to mine although where the screw is on the back there is a bolt head(?) With the Engineering Institute 1970's-80's The second depression is not circular but has one flat side. I know this is confusing so check out these sites: http://collectrussia.com/DISPITEM.HTM?ITEM=9385 http://collectrussia.com/DISPITEM.HTM?ITEM=9356 http://collectrussia.com/DISPITEM.HTM?ITEM=9355 Also, I have been searching endlessly for an indentification of this badge that I have in my fledging collection. It appears to have cryllic writing on it (Russian?) and has a tank and two missiles. I would have quickly labelled it as Russian but there is no hammer and sickle present. Maybe after that era? Any coments would be great. Sorry about the shoddy photo. Endless Thanks, Tom

    15. Thanks for the reply. I want to mainly collect medals but I would be glad to branch out and collect orders as well. On closer inspection I think that my Engineering Institute graduate medal is a fake. I guess that I should have researched a bit more before I purchased one. Thanks, Tom
    16. I am currently learning German at school, and I plan to learn Russian after I graduate. It is a great sounding language.
    17. Hey. I have just started collecting Soviet war medals and, being sixteen, money is an important factor. Altogether, I have bought a Medal for the 100th Anniversary of Lenin?s Birth, Medal for Veterans of Labour, Engineering Institute graduate, circa 1950s-60s and a Combined Arms Specialist, Master, 1960s-80s, aswell as four other medals and two other badges that I am yet to identfy. Do you have any tips for an amateur medal collector? (Engineering Institute graduate, circa 1950's-60's) (Medal for Veterans of Labour) (Medal for the 100th Anniversary of Lenin?s Birth) Thanks, Tom
