    3. Hello , Thanks for share. The Lorette Heights were a very strategic position for their tennants , In past wars existed the conviction that who commands the Heights Commands France. In October 1914 ,Bavarian troops of Prince Rupert Army occupied the Heights and received the order of hold firm there.

    9. Hello , Certainly US Navy model 1852 Epaulettes for Captains were very similar ,but the eagle was in silver and lacks on the field the anchors equally in silver .

    13. Hello Chris, To me they are in the Carpathians, The Dolomites were more abrupts virtually all peaks and narrow gorges . Regarding to the Carnic Alps they are very rocky . The Carpathian Mounts were lower and more soft sic in appareance.

That make sense , the shape of the collar patches is those of the French organized Legion Tchecoslovaque.certainl y the uniforms looks like AH but the man in the centre wears what appears to be a French vareuse bleu horizon ,the badge is rare the czechs used an oval one in dark blue cloth with the capitals C S in silver. the badge showed appears as a polish eagle over a pointed cloth shield .
    17. Nice coffee grinder . as the French used to call the MG 08 . the pic must be of the very beggining of the war . the men belonged to the 106 Infantry regiment ,a Saxon unit. note the cuffs and the monogram over the shoulderboards , the crowned G of KIng Georg .
    18. Hello Von Tronstahl , I think that the men in the pic are members of some of the paramilitary forces of the Austrian republic .Heimwehr .their collar patches are not Army shape
    19. Hello , The pic of a group of Bavarian soldiers and a few civilians is of wartime , there is not any officer in the pic . regarding to date the pic could be of end of 1914 or early 1915 . One man is a jaeger senior NCO , the others mostly infantrymen . one man wears What appears to be the uniform of the Leib Regiment .
