    1. The 40 years medal has three variants, one for the airforce, one for the navy and one for the army.
    2. I can confirm that all these medals are real. The mounting was redone as the medals were not in the best of condition once I inherited the lot. The ribbons were redone and the medals were polished. The 10, 20 and 30 year medals were added later as my grandfather was eligible given his service spanning more than 3 decades (I did consult several individuals within the army who agreed that these medals could be added). Here is the picture of the set before it was restored.
    3. Was able to find one 40 years service medal issued to an airforce officer, here's the picture
    4. Hey If the recipient was awarded the war medal (tamgha e jang), i believe he should have been awarded the sitara e harb as well since they were awarded for the 65 and 71 war. Further more, the presence of 2 defence medals is really weird since usually the clasp is added on the existing medal. The bar has the 20 years service medal, since the carrier spans at least 49 years, there should be a 10, 30, 35 and 40 years service medal. Lastly seems like this person had a long carrier (another red flag) since he has a clasp of 1948 and the last medal (independence day golden jubilee medal) was awarded in 1997. That just simply dosent add up since the retirement age is 60. With this persons minimum 49 years of service, the person had to be enlisted when he was 11. In my opinion, this seems to be a fake, or at least altered Regards Hashim
    5. Would depend on if these are named or not, since that could really increase the value
    6. So the recipient was most likely a pre-partition solider?
    7. Hey David, have to agree with the points you have raised regarding the appearance and details of the clasp. I have seen some medals around the market, most probably that rules out the discussion about being a one piece manufacture, would be interesting to find out more about this clasp since information about this clasp is limited
    8. Not quite sure to be honest but it might be possible since the civilian personell serve the army just like the rest Regards Hashim
    9. Hey Paul why the difference in the colour? Anything to do with the grade? Emanuel, do you need a ribbon for the medal? I do have some contacts that can surely arrange that for you Regards Hashim
    10. Hey Paul Now that was correctly guessed, hadn't seen this specific medal before so had to publish the picture
    11. One of the most gorgeous medals I've seen, who can guess the medal correctly?
    12. Hey Sjøforsvaret is the royal Norwegian navy regards Hashim
    13. Hey Paul Really appreciate the information Hashim
    14. Came across these three patches, the third one seems like an SSG patch but are the remaining two patches pakistani?
    15. Hey Peter Has been a couple of months since this medal fever took over me, interesting to find new information of the forum. The most interesting this about these three medals is the quality. The 3rd class seems to lack simple finishing whereas the second one looks to have been inspected. The first class is pure perfection, interesting to see how the quality changes through the three medals Hashim Hey Paul Pretty sure Hugh misunderstood something, i panicked there a bit hearing about the fifth class, took me pretty decent time to find extra ordinary specimens Hashim
    16. Hey Hugh This was the reason why i posted this, really interesting to find out different views and the most prominent of all, all the new information that follows. Im wondering if you could share more information about the fourth and fifth class if you come across Hashim
    17. I do agree with Paul since i have seen first class medals marked sgp with faded gold plating, so that the medal itself is clear silver even though its first class Hashim
    18. Hey Hugh This is the second class you've published the picture of, could you share the picture of that fifth class you mentioned earlier? Hashim
    19. Hey Hugh Fifth class? That's the first time I'm hearing about the fifth class, thought there were only 3 classes, as pictured regards Hashim Thank you for the reply Paul, do you have any prior information about how many classes there are? @Hugh mentioned a fifth class which is something I've never seen nor heard regards Hashim
    20. Tamgha-i-Khidmat, also know as the service medal is the fifth highest honour given by the government of Pakistan. The fact that fascinates me is that these medals aren't necessarily the same size. According to my sources, these medals come in three sizes each, the 1st class medal pictured is the medium sized variant whereas the remaining two are the large sized specimens. Any information and suggestions on the varying sizes will be highly appreciated Regards Hashim
    21. Hey Ulsterman Really appreciate your words, I'm currently trying to put together a miniature medals set, that complete the set Regards Hashim Hey Paul Family medals are a privilege, thank you for the comment Regards Hashim
    22. Hey Paul I have limited information regarding his career, all the information is from relatives and family, he died before I was born so I have limited information though regards Hashim
    23. Hey Paul Heres a picture of the only medal thats engraved Regards Hashim
    24. One of the sitara e harb is named, these medals belong to my grand father Regards Hashim
