    1. Rick, It looks like Feldwebelleutnant Curt Beyer has slip on boards that are sewn down. If so that pretty cool. My Hessen Feldwebelleutnant has slip-on boards that have been sewn down very neatly and tightly on the shoulder seem. Do you have any other photos of enlisted, NCOs, officer substitutes that are wearing insignia or uniforms that are not correct to their unit and/or their uniform? Nice photos are hard to come by. It seems you guys with more time behind you have pretty nice photo archives.
    2. Peter, your work is absolutely amazing. I've tried it and it is not easy at all. Have you done any German or Austro-Hungarian generals?
    3. I can see it but I must say I prefer on-site post so they'll always be there to later viewing. I am still learning how to take pics that are less than 110K and still have detail. I know, it's possible but I'm not that smart.
    4. Here's a know photo of an NCO of LGR100. Schmidt has been transferred to IR101. He looking to be transferred back to LGR100 but someone out there is hording all the enlisted man's 1910 straps for LGR100
    5. Okay Jaba, let us see all your Saxon awards. You've been holding out on us
    6. Very nice Jaba1914. I love the St henry order. I like the case. It's similar to my case for me Siler St Henry medal
    7. Hi Chip, Do you have any photos in your collection of Saxons? I've been searching for all things 100 as you know but now I'm looking for history and photos of regiments 101, 103, 106, 182, and of coarse 100.
    8. Another question. In my search I came across a division named the Franke Division. Does anyone know the history of this unit and what regiments or units made up this division?
    9. Chris, nice photos I guess what I'm trying to find out is if officers and NCOs transferred to other regiments and if so are there records? Could an NCO from the 100 be transferred to RIR100 or RIR101 or RIR103 or IR182 or IR482 and so on??? What about transferring to Landwehr units? Seeing the photos in Rick's ribbon bar section of Saxon NCOs wearing Litzen but in units not authorized to wear litzen confuses me. I guess the photos have writing on the reverse to identify the unit because its not evident in the photos. Would anyone have photos to share?
    10. Just found this at http://www.1914-18.info/erster-weltkrieg.p...&start=1130 Infanterie-Regiment Nr.182 K?niglich S?chsisches 16. Infanterie-Regiment Nr.182 (46.Inf.-Brig./23.Inf.-Div./XII. Armeek./3.Armee) (Standort: Freiberg) Kommandeur: Oberst Francke According to 251 Division book IR182 was in: 23 Division in 1914-1915 Belgium/Marne/Aisne 123 Division in 1915 Champagne/Artois/Flanders/Somme 216 Division in 1916 Galicia-Transylvania/Roumania 212 Division in 1917-1918 Roumania/Ukraine I guess it was an active regiment since no reference to reserve was mentioned. This regiment move around a bit. I read it took heavy casualyies in Roumania. What are the chances of an NCO from IR100 transferring to IR182 in 1914-1915?
    11. Chris, that's very interesting. Do you know why he went to the 101 the later back to 182? Do ya have any photos?
    12. Can someone tell me if IR182 was active or reserve? If active, was there a RIR182? Also, trying to research some of these Saxon Regiments during the war but I'm having a heck of a time determining which units were made up from extras of other units(extra is not the right word). I've read that the 123rd Division was made up from units from the 23rd, 24th, and 34th Divisions. Is it possible that men from the 100th regiment (LGR (100) WERE TRANSFERRED TO THE 182?
    13. I saw a photo a while back that read in the caption Hauptmann Borchet reporting for review to the Kaiser. He was standing in front of armor crews and tanks. Was he one of the first tank commanders? Does anyone have photos and information on this man?
    14. Mike, is that what it looks like? A Commander St Henry! That would fit perfect in my collection. You are right, its most likely a Crimea ribbon. I like your British group. I too have a Crimea pair with a Indian Mutiny in the group. I've collected British awards and still have most.
    15. Christophe, I really like that photo. I have a Leibgrenadier 100 tunic for an Unteroffizier with Picklehaube and belt with buckle marked to LGR100 or RR100, ??, can't remember. I'd like to have a couple of nice photos of men from this regiment. If Feldwebel-Leutnent Melzer's ribbon bar had a SMK at the end he would have the same bar as mine.
    16. Could be Crimean. It's silk so I don't know when silk ribbon making ended. Was it 30-40s?
    17. Here's the second on a replacement ribbon that is period, silk... I don't know if you guys remember years ago when a huge stock on period ribbon was offered on WAF but I got this along with other ribbon. It seems too dark for St Henry to me. If not St Henry what?
    18. Here's the first one I got years ago, back in the day I could afford this stuff. Its from Detlev before he became so popular that I can't even get connected to his site on update day. I haven't even tried in 3-4 years.
