Hi Dean, the first edition (blackened iron) had been awarded in the period 1920-1922. My two grey/black medals (patinated zinc) are from the period 1922-1928, second edition. The other four medals (silvered/gilded) in this thread are from the period 1928-1936, third edition, now with a changed helmet design. Uwe

Hi, we have in Bavaria in that time two different oval medals. 1. Feuerwehrehrenzeichen für hervorragende Leistungen (for outstanding performance/excellent achievement) http://www.feuerwehr...isch/10205.html 2. Feuerwehrehrenzeichen für 25/40jährige Dienstzeit (for long service 25/40 years) http://www.feuerwehr...isch/10202.html http://www.feuerwehr...isch/10203.html For the first medal with the text ""FÜR HERVORRAGENDE LEISTUNGEN IM FEUERWEHR-DIENST" it is correct with the different colours for professionals in red and for volunteers in white and blue. For the second medal with the text "FÜR 25/40 JÄHRIGE DIENST-ZEIT" it is for the differentiation between 25 (white and blue) and 40 years (red) of service. Uwe

DDR DDR 4 place medal bar question
speedytop replied to U Boot Kapitan's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi Jason, the combination is not correct. The second medal from left must be positioned behind all the other medals. Postion 1 and 3 from left: Verdienstmedaille der Organe des Ministeriums des Innern in Silber und Bronze (police medal for merit, second and third class). Position 2 (the wrong placed medal): Medaille für Treue Dienste in den bewaffneten Organen des Ministeriums des Innern in Gold für 25 Jahre (police medal for faithful service). Position 4: Verdienstmedaille der Kampfgruppen der Arbeiterklasse in Gold (or Silber?) (militia medal for merit). The medals in Position 3 and 4 are back to front. Uwe -
Gordon, "I can not agree with comments that the first bar posted is a fantasy piece. There is no proof of that." I can not agree with your comment. It is the disputable combination, it is the missing EK 2 and it is the order of precedence. There are some bars interchangeable, e.g. the olympic medal and the long service decoration, but they are interchangeable only in a grouping, not between groupings. Please compare my configuration with Nr. 840 in Post 16: Uwe

Hi, I must assist Naxos, the first one is a fantasy bar. No EK 2 (IC 2), wrong order of precedence, all bars "must have" a mini on it (e.g. Ostmedaille is original without a mini, see Post 8). Everybody could create such a ribbon bar. But I must say, that the order of precedence on the ribbon bar of Generalmajor Dr. Ebeling is also not correct , in the second row the German Cross and the Verdienstkreuz 1. Klasse must be changed (Gordon, please do not change it). Here is the better reference for all 1957 versions: http://www.ordensmus...16Jan0857er.pdf Uwe

DDR Banner of Labor document
speedytop replied to Humberto Corado's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi Humberto, As far as I know the presentation of the document in a folder form depended not of the rank of the recipient. The documents signatures ( Honecker, Stoph, etc) I only found in printed form. Uwe -
I just found it in the first link : "Im Ersten Weltkrieg war er Sanitätschef eines Reservespitals in Jerusalem." Dr. Hermann Ritter v. Schrötter-Kristelli, RgtsArzt i. d. Res., Kmdt. d. FSp. Hi, some very small corrections: Jerusalem, 1. Juni 1917 Euer Hochwohlgeboren! Hoch geehrter Herr Hauptmann!

DDR Banner of Labor document
speedytop replied to Humberto Corado's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi Humberto, on ebay.de you can always find the documents, with prices from 10 to 299 Euro! You have to pay more than 10 Euro for documents from 1974 and before, the "Orden Banner der Arbeit" without the "Stufe" (later Stufe I). And you must differentiate between documents for a "Kollektiv" (see Post 2) and documents for a single person. Here is a document for a single person in Stufe II Uwe -

Belgium the ww1 commemorative medal
speedytop replied to Roeland's topic in Northern European & Baltic States
Hi, here is a medal ribbon with a middle section in yellow on a basic structure in red, a thin red thread under the yellow thread, yellow partial rubbed off. The quality of these medals is really not impressive. Uwe -
And I repeat it once more, in a large set of an aristocratic family I found a BB&Co TWM with the red 'box'. All the decorations, documents and cases are originals, without any doubts. And therefore I assume, that the Lieutenant General got his TWM from BB&Co with this paper bag: Uwe
