Hi, "In 1957 the reborn Germany passed a law allowing the wear of formerly awarded decorations again." I don't know, what that has anything to do with an Imperial decoration. You could wear Imperial decorations before the law from 1957. And the "several companies" produced the Imperial decorations already before the law from 1957, as not-originals (copies/fakes). And all these companies produced always not only for the veterans. Therefore it is not important, when they produced the decorations, because produced after the award period of the decorations they were always not originals. Before 1957 and after 1957. Uwe

Hi, it is a members cross of a veterans organization (Militärverein) in Plaue, the organization had been founded in 1886. Common, as many other crosses and medals in Germany. As Bernhard wrote it before. There are three Plaue, and this could be Plaue as part of the town Flöha in Saxony, based on the white/green ribbon. Uwe

Chris, it is written there: "Ich beehre mich, die Auszeichnungen mit den Kreuzen und Empfangsbescheinigung zur Ausführung hierneben ergebenst zu übersenden." With "Auszeichnungen" are meant the award documents! Please see the fourth-last document: http://www.huesken.com/shop/de/heeres-generalitaet-generalstab/urkunden-nachlass-des-leibarztes-kaiser-wilhelm-ii-52029.html Uwe

Hi, "triple awards of the Hanseatic Cross" In a group of several high ranked Generals of a noble family (not in my collection!) I found one General der Infanterie with all three Hanseatic Crosses. Apart from that he was distinguished with the highest Prussian decorations, the highest decorations of some German states and several very high foreign decorations. Uwe

DDR Strichtarn UTV Questions
speedytop replied to siampete's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi Riker87, what is the source for UTV = Unter Truppenversuch ? My knowledge is: UTV = Universelle Tragevorrichtung Or, only one source: UTV = Uniformtrageversuch (85-90) Uwe -
Gordon, I really don't know. But I think, that the medal had been attached with pushpins on a board, together with other "walking" medals. You can often find such a composition, sometimes changed for a new arrangement with other walking medals. In 1972 we had two German teams, each with the normal flag BRD and DDR. Therefore I'm wondering about the police sports club, that they used the old symbol on a 1972 medal. Uwe

Hi, in Kürassierregiment von Driesen (Westfälisches) Nr. 4 we can find two v. Landsberg, Frhr. v. Landsberg-Velen, last rank Rittmeister, and Frhr. v. Landsberg, last rank Major. I think, that it is Major a.D. Freiherr Alfred v. Landsberg, the last commander of the Garde-Kürassierregiment: http://www.kuerassierregimenter.de/fakten.php?det=&did=12 "Ergebnis 3 von 4" http://books.google.de/books?id=8yMmSlsreCkC&pg=PA3&lpg=PA3&dq=%22Alfred+von+Landsberg%22&source=bl&ots=A1HgDDvWEW&sig=JA5OaBtVGa4bqT4v94g9L0i7C_U&hl=de&sa=X&ei=LbztUJCMIKeG4ASsvoDoAw&ved=0CHUQ6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=%22Alfred%20von%20Landsberg%22&f=false Uwe
