    1. Hello there ! I just bought an album with 50 photos from another IGB attached to the Sturmbataillon 7 (IGB23) I recognise some very similar views (the railway station, the platz in Bosmont, ubungsplatz, Pargny...), I will share it when I will be able to remove the photos (text are oon the back) and to scan them. Best regards, Julien
    2. Hello, thank you ! Xiphophilos from Flickr transcipted the text: "Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit bei der Sturm-Kanon(en)-Abt(eilung) des Sturm Battl 5. Armee im Westen Kriegsjahr 1914 15 16 17 Dein Bruder August English translation: In memory of my time of service with the Assault Gun Section of the Assault Battalion 5th Army in the West War Year 1914 15 16 17 Your brother August" Indeed it is strange with no leather protection and boots. I don't understand the presence of the sabers either (I am trying to identify them to find out if it can help to understand). The designation of Sturm-Kanonen-Abteilung is really strange, I knew IGB or Haubitzen-Batterie but never heard of this detachment under this name. Yet the guy clearly indicates that he has been there and he must at least know the name of his unit...
    3. Hello I managed to get the five that are already posted on this topic. One time you told me that you have already 6 in the set, is it possible to see the 6th different you have please. It would help me to know what it looks like. Thanks, Julien
    4. A new one possibly linked to the Sturm Bataillon: The text seems to say: Sturm-Kanon-Abt des Sturm Battl 5 Armee Never heard about a Sturm-Kanon-Abteilung
    5. Some more stormtrooper poscards: Sturm-Bataillon 2 Sturm-Bataillon 6 (horizontal): Sturm-Bataillon 16: And some additional not related to Sturm-Bataillon: My favourite: And the last one: I have also the complete Rohr set:
    6. I received some weeks ago this nice postcard with the stamp from the 2. Sturmkompagnie. The text is also very interesting by describing a lot of stormtroopers aspects:
    7. Here is the full set : Every postcard has at least one funny element but I couldn't identify them in all the pictures.
    8. Fantastic Schad ! I have myself a nice set of two pictures about the Jäger Sturm Bataillon Nr 3 :
    9. Hello everybody, I never be as stressed waiting for a shipment. I am waiting the full set for next week: Never saw a full set for sale before.
    10. Most of my stamps with full text said : Brief-Stempel Some example : Some Soldaten-Briefstempel: And FeldpostBrief: I don't have any Soldaten-Brief in full text. For Sturmbataillon Rohr I have these stamps: 8.10.15 7.2.16 B.S. Sturmabt 25 and 26.7.16 9.2.17 B.S. Sturmbatl (training troops) 28.8.16 17.1.17 B.S. Sturm-Batl (real "members" in combat unit) And at least two more stamps I don't have : B.S. Sturm-Batl (Rohr) and the one about the Haubitzbatterie
    11. Hi thank you for the information. I have made some additional research and found that this stamp was in use at least since September 1915 (and I have a postcard from October 1915). So if I understand it is the same stamp tha the one from Sturm-Abteilung Rohr but before February 1916 it stands for the Rohr Abteilung and after this date it stands for Sturm-(lehr)-Abteilung of the 12.Ldw.Div. I think that they simply didn't change the stamp. Julien
    12. Hi, I think B.S. stands for Brief Stempel. The stamp is from a divisional sturmabteilung. I don't know from which division for the moment. The Sturmabteilung commanded by Rohr became the Sturmbataillon the 1st April 1916. But this stamp looks like the one for the Sturmabteilung Rohr. So I am not sure.
    13. I really like stamps and this shape correspond to the SB2 as on this photo: That seems specific to the 3rd Army the oval.
    14. Hi everyone, here are some photos about the sturmbataillon Rohr that I just picked up. 2 photos with Rohr on the first: Description and back on my Flickr profile (to not overload this topic). And one more from this set (a BUFA): And possibly another from a different set (I am not sure about this one): I also have a couple of stamps : This first kind of stamp seems ti have been used by non-sturmbataillon troops on formation while the second one seems to be used by the man of the Sturmbataillon: Some text already have transcription/traduction on Flickr while the letter and some others don't.
    15. Hi, this autograph postcard is just amazing. 2 signatures from Rohr in such condition with photo and personal text... wow Really interesting to see all these images, it's the synthesis of so many beautiful images in one place, the one with the dog is a BUFA, a7v, Rohr, flamethrower of the totenkopf regiment and even a mention of the sturmabteilung Calsow. With the board and the badge I think we can say that it is the holy Grail. I am stunned to see that such a whole can still exist 100 years later. Congratulations.
    16. I honestly do not think so, because with the width of the barbed wire networks it would take a lot of ladders and then it would take a lot of time while standing. Moreover, if the wires are well stretched with the stakes well placed I am not sure that the weight of a person is sufficient to put the ladder on the ground. Unstable and exposed. Also as I haven't seen any other photos yet, I guess the concept did not work out very well. In addition on the photo we see that the stakes are apart and that there is not too much wire and yet it is already complicated for the second ladder.
    17. Indeed it is not very original but I could have noticed it with the date since the war was over on 11/30/18 I had not paid attention to it. Thank you for your translation and translation. I find German a very difficult language with a lot of very different writing style. There are some very easy to read close to French and sometimes fortunately it's a German card otherwise I could not say. On the other hand I think I have a postcard with an interesting text there is a photo of flame thrower and it seems to me to read flammenwerfer behind.
    18. Hello, I am sharing the photo I have of the SB16, my friends on Flickr told me that this technique was not in the book so I find it interesting to add it here. The photo showing a technique of crossing barbed wire. Soldiers are equipped with grenade bags, rifles and leather knee pads also each carry a kind of ladder. The first poses it on the barbed wire then they advance, make go up the other ladders towards the front then the pose and so on. I have not seen any other photos yet about this technique, but I do not have any documentation. According to the seller it is a training of the SturmBataillon n°16. Julien
    19. I take this opportunity to post here my postcard on the SturmBataillon 5 Rohr quite well known but really nice in postcard format even if it is a French card made with the negative found by the Americans. A wex squad in Argonne : 1 team leader 1 support 2 lance operator and 2 tank carrier I think. I bought this card this summer it was simply titled Trench in Argonne. I think that even if the sight is known the fact that it is in postcard format in photo quality allows it to still have an interesting value when we see the prices reached by the products related to the SB5 if anyone 'one has seen selling prices do not hesitate to tell me because I hesitate to sell it. As I am a student my postcard budget is tight and I do not particularly care about this one. Thank you for your feedback. Julien
    20. Sincerely I do not know where you find all this. I do not even see them go on sale. This is one of the most expensive that I paid (around forty euros) and I found it by pure luck at the bottom of Delcampe because as this series has no title the seller did not really know what that it was he just called it a German soldier or something. At this rate it will take me 30 years to bring the series together (even if I have the time) before I hesitated when I saw a card on the sturmtruppen but now at less than 40-50 euros I buy without asking myself any questions because the turn of the classic is quickly done but the rarer cards are really difficult to have and go quickly.
    21. I also have this cool little photo showing a technique of crossing barbed wire. Soldiers are equipped with grenade bags, rifles and leather knee pads also each carry a kind of ladder. The first poses it on the barbed wire then they advance, make go up the other ladders towards the front then the pose and so on. I have not seen any other photos yet, but I do not have any documentation. According to the seller it is a training of the SturmBataillon n°16. Here is also this view of the SturmBataillon 5 Rohr quite well known (but it must still have a minimum of value) but really nice in postcard format even if it is a French card made with the negative found by the Americans. A wex squad in Argonne.
    22. Really sorry I think it's my fault I really wanted the horizontal because I already have the other and I found this one even better. Julien here is my copy bought last summer of the SB6 with a nice unit mark(I cannot read german so I do not know if the text is related) :
    23. That would be really great. It is been 3 years that I really collect and I have a lot of trouble finding references on these themes that is why I "take advantage" of confinement to put myself online to retrieve information from people who are know about it. Are they on sale often? because by following a little the sales of europe and internet for ebay etc it is the only one that I found in three years.
