    1. The article reads that from this date onwards the ranks from Anw?rter and up should wear the double Litzen same pattern as Schupo but than with Karmesin backingcloth. The officers tabs in SS-style were proposed for the entire police system but this order was shortly after retracted. These tabs are not believed to actually having been used.
    2. Stephen, Robin is correct in identifying your eagle as Fire Police. To view an original Wasserschutzpolizei officers eagle please go to my website section insignia/eagles
    3. Very nice set of items. Do you plan to focus your collection on Feuerwehr/Feuerschutzpolizei (ie the Carmine branche color) ?
    4. My guess is that "P.H.N.4038" means "Polizei.Hund.Nummer.4038"
    5. The runes would be done in silver Even Polizei Generals wore silver runes.
    6. This is indeed a great photograph of a Revier-Oberwachtmeister der Wasserschutzpolizei. Considering the fact that in 1938 there was a total membership of only 1250 officials (NCO and Officers combined) in the entire Wasserschutzpolizei makes finding any WSP item a rarity. I only know of a handfull of Caps in collections and have only seen pictures of 1 original jacket. Even the loose insignia like sleeve eagles are very hard to find (especially the Officers variety). Even photographs of these guys seem to be rather hard to locate.
    7. Hi Don, Indeed the tag is curved and has two holes, one at each end. The wear on the holes edges do not look like it was attached to a chain so maybe indeed it was attached to a leather collar by means of rivets I hope to find out more about this tag someday. PS. What are the dimensions of your Policedog tag
    8. The Kriminalpolizei would not wear these uniforms. If they were uniformed at all. As far as I know the Criminal police (Kriminalpolizei) wore civilian clothes when on duty. If they needed assistance from the guys in uniform they could call in the help of the Schutzpolizei or the Gendarmerie. From the introduction of the Grey piped Verwaltungspolizei uniform there also existed the shoulderboards with only grey piping (without red) this was used by the highest function/grade officers. The use of the red "Nebenfarbe" was discontinued per order of november 1944 onwards. No new shoulderboards would be bought normally and the red "inbetween" color would simply be removed. For a complete list of the Verwaltungspolizei shoulderboards you may want to check out my website section "insignia/shoulderboards/Verwaltungspolizei" kind regards Ernst btw Bill, excellent pair of Meister boards !!
    9. Good Evening, As my second posting on this forum I have selected a tunic from my collection. It is a tunic to a Major der Schutzpolizei. Hope you like it kind regards Ernst
    10. Hi there, my first post on this forum I would like to start by asking your opinions about the following item I found a few months ago. It is a brass(?) disc about 55mm wide and curved. it reads : "Erster Deutscher Polizeihund Verein, Sitz Duisburg" around the edge and "P.H.N. 4038" in the center. I know this organisation "First German Policedog Association" existed in the thirties. Is this tag also from this period? thanks for your opinions. kind regards Ernst
