    1. Thanks Graf, this Order of Saint Gregory is wonderful, do you know under which Pope it was awarded? Vatican decorations are an area that few collectors end up focusing on and information is scarce, many of these medals, especially the Benemerenti, are often sold as “devotional medals”.
    2. One more for the collection, another benemerenti from Pope Leo XIII, this time the silver class.
    3. A new medal arrived today, silver Benemerenti medal from Pope Benedictvs XV, marked by S.J. Although a little worn, you can still see the beautiful details of his Papal Stole.
    4. Hello Jim, the medal was issued in 2 classes, silver for high authorities and bronze for assistants, it was minted by the Mint and its Engraver was B.RIBEIRO, regarding availability I can say that it is a somewhat difficult medal to find even here in Brazil.
    5. More medals for the collection, a beautiful Order of Saint Sylvester that belonged to the Brazilian diplomat Renato Madasi, around the 60s, time of Pope Saint John XXIII and a rare Bene Merenti Medal from the Archdiocese of Mechelen
    6. hello everyone, I recently started a small collection of papal decorations, pieces of little interest to most collectors, unfortunately they are very rare to appear in the Brazilian market, so I always try to take advantage of rare opportunities, for now I am happy with my Pro Ecclesia et Pontifex (which I assume was granted during the papacy of Pius XII), Lateran Cross in case (Type I) with a miniature (Type II of Saint Paul VI), Bene Menreti Medal of Leo XIII and two miniatures of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher. The Lateran Cross and miniature
    7. This uniform was offered in an brazilian auction that took place in the last few days, there was no bid for it, it will probably appear again in the next auction, in this auctioneer there are always strange pieces together with legitimate pieces, due to the little contact I had with them, it doesn't seem to me that they do it on purpose, they just don't know the experts for it and it's something very common to happen in Brazilian auctions.
    8. thank you so much for your help!!!, I'm trying to figure out the rest of the decorations, and maybe the name of the original recipient...
    9. Hi everyone, I bought this French ribbon bar at auction and I need help identifying some of the ribbons, I'm assuming the original veteran was a volunteer with the Red Cross of the Order of Malta, on account of the ribbons, but I'm not sure, I'd appreciate any help. 1 – Legion of honor - officer 2 -? 3 – legion of honor again? 4 - Medal of French Gratitude – silver 5 - Honour medal for courage and devotion – gold 6 – victory medal 7 - ? 8 – order of malta? 9 – Verdun medal 10 – ww1 comemorative medal 11 - ? 12 - croix du combattant 13 – red cross? 14 – red cross? 15 – red cross service medal 16 – red cross?
    10. Here is another piece, a tunic from the 70's of a Colonel of the Military Police of the State of São Paulo of the 20th Battalion of the Interior, with a bar of the gold medal for 30 years of service, only missing the visor, tie and the insignia of superior officer in the right pocket to finish. Sorry for the bad pics, it's best I can.
    11. Thank you very much Hendrick, I still have many pieces to show, here are some more that belonged to my great-grandfather. His Military Historic along with his 20 Years Service Medal in Silver and the Police insignia that he used when he was part of the Air Force Police. He joined the Air Force in 1945, shortly before the end of the Second World War, at the School of Sub-Officers and graduated in Aircraft Mechanics in 1947, this book deals with his trajectory from 1945 to 1965 (I'm looking for the other book from 65-75 when he retired), one of the most troubled periods in the country, the end of the Vargas Dictatorship in 1945 and the beginning of of the Military Dictatorship of 1964, it also contains many signatures of important Air Force Officers, mainly Ministers and ex-combatants of the Italian Campaign. In the last photos, he with one plane and his identity card which has a funny history with it, the Brazilian Air Force was created in 1941 and he entered in 1945, because that, his identity card came out at number 99, which constantly caused him problems with the authorities civilians and military because they think it is a false document. Unfortunately they are the only things he had left, the other things were lost with time.
    12. Hello everyone, I know that many of you have never seen or know little about Brazilian medals and equipment, so I would like to show you some pieces from my collection. The first photo is an American M1 helmet that was used by the Brazilian Expeditionary Force in the Italy campaign, with a Bronze Star (very awarded to Brazilian soldiers) and the Campaign Medal, with its bar, miniature and original envelope, these envelopes are very rare, they were only sent to soldiers who could not receive in person (wounded and prisoners of war), this medal was awarded to Private Cícero Bezerra de Paiva Sobrinho of the 8th Group of the 27th Battalion of Amazon Hunters.
    13. my sincere apologies, because of the saturation of the photo, the ribbons and the Order of Saxe seem very strange, modern production, with the editing done on the photo it was much better.
    14. unfortunately the whole bar looks bad to me, even the medals, I've seen some stores that mount and sell replicas of German bars, this seems to be one of those products.
    15. Hi, in the next month this embroidered star of the Portugal Sash of the Three Orders go to a auction, in the description, are saying thats part of the Robe of the Order, but i can't find any reference about this Robe, can anyone help me with this piece?
    16. that's a wonderful collection Klaus, what is the skull patch? for tank crew?
    17. they are beautiful bars, I always found the repeated ribbons curious and a little funny because of the medals that had the same ribbons, I imagine even the Austrian military were a little confused by them
    18. hi guys, last week i went to an antiques fair and i found this sergeant m73 uniform, i found it under the name Moiseevn (which i assume is the name of the veteran), the uniform already came with the badges and tinnies so i bought the medals. I'm already providing a mannequin for the uniform, I think it was a great buy for my first soviet uniform Does anyone know what the golden bars are under the patch?
    19. I thought it could be a lie, because it certainly has many more medals than just for these three battalions, but I've seen many sellers and other medal sites passing this information and I took it as true.
    20. interesting, if he was actually awarded the Schaumburg-Lippe cross, then the medal was not only awarded to native battalions as we discussed in another post. I found this photo of him during WW2 where we have a view of his ribbon bar, unfortunately the photo is in poor quality but maybe it's possible to compare and identify the ribbons.
    21. the shooting medal is possibly from the same veteran, the pin was probably added by someone.
    22. I could be wrong, but it is said that the Schaumburg-Lippe Cross was awarded only to its native battalions, specifically the 2nd Curhessian Hussar Regiment No.14, the Westphalian Jäger Battalion No.7 and the Rhineland Hussar Regiment No.7, which excludes the navy. https://www.ehrenzeichen-orden.de/deutsche-staaten/kreuz-fur-treue-dienste-1914.html
    23. thank you very much for everyone's help, I find it difficult that it is the Order of the Redeemer because in all his pictures he is using it and I don't think he would give it more importance than his other Orders. It might not be the Order of Saxe either, but looking at this photo there appears to be spheres at the tip of the cross (or I'm just seeing wrong), which also rules out the Greek Order.
