    1. I am chiming in rather late on this one Eric, but may I say, that is about the nicest badge that I have ever had the privelige of laying my eyes on, and imho, about the creme de la creme of badge collecting, just magnificent. Your photgraphy skills are extremely good too, really shows the award in all of it's true glory, thanks very much for sharing this gem, Cheers, Bob
    2. Hi Eric, Yes it is, Uffz Ernst Quaas, a bomber pilot with KG 26. Best wishes Bob
    3. Congratulations, and I agree with Eric, the friend of yours sounds like a true gentleman, there sure is something about the goblets that sets them apart from most other awards, I guess I am a bit of a fan too. Love your goblet !! Best wishes Bob
    4. Hi Chris, Yup they look like bad decals to me too, I guess if you were to try putting a wet (damp) rag over them during the night, they might soak off, and then a good dry shouldn't hurt the helmet, it will be interesting to see if there is traces of the original decals underneath, as it is an M35. The paint finish looks original, easy to spot the fake decals as they are placed over the dings and scratches of the paintwork. Lots of luck with the cleaning of the decals. (I have never tried that though, and maybe you should ask on one of the helmet forums, ie the WAF, or German Helmet Walhalla, there would be more qualified people there willing to give you some advice I am sure). Cheers Bob
    5. Thanks gents, glad the photos were enjoyed, here it is again, with a friend... (friend has the 1st pattern eagle, it is also a Robert Lubstein cap, I have photos of this one earlier on in this thread). Cheers Bob
    6. Great stuff Bob, the mess tunics always have fantastic eagles on them, and yours has a great pedigree ! Just to update on my tunic at the start of this thread, I traded it off a little while back, I don't really have the room to keep tunics, so decided to just stay with some headgear and a few smaller items, I do miss my tunics a bit, but the decision has been made, I sure enjoy looking at the fantastic items in other collections though, and yours are very tasty, and thanks for showing them. Cheers Bob
    7. Bill, You sure do go to the best garage sales ! Your finds always give me a thrill !!!! Cheers Bob
    8. Last shot, the original owner's name tag. Best wishes Bob
    9. Another visor cap to add to this thread, Lubstein of course....
    10. Last one, lids closed. Best wishes Bob
    11. As I have been slack of late, and not been posting a lot, I guess I had better add something, here are a couple of DK's, my Gold and a friend of mine who has a Silver (which I sold him some years ago, and sort of regret that now). Anyway, some photos of them together....
