    1. Interior, the maker's diamond has long gone....
    2. Hi all, Another yellow piped NCO's visor cap, this one has unit markings for the airport command at Bad Aibling, and the original owner's name inside, nice to be able to get one with unit designation still intact, the airstrip at Bad Aibling was home to several well known units. Bob
    3. Cap has a slightly lighter blue grey body than normally found, it isn't fading as the colour is consistent all over the cap, lovely little shape to it....
    4. Cap is in overall very good condition with the exception of having some mothing on the piping just above the eagle, little devils chewed away the very top of the piping for about an inch and a half...
    5. Good afternoon Gents, Here is another visor cap that I hope you find of some interest, a Medical NCO's visor cap. The maker is Ad. Hoeper of Celle. Bob
    6. More fantastic items Francois, that tropical billed cap is travelling into rarified air indeed, as is most of your collection, I have seen some photos of Johnny H's cap, and had the privelige of seeing an example in the flesh last year in Auckland New Zealand with the author of the early DAK book (DM), which is an Erel example, but that is it, I know of no other example locally. (especially with the bullion insignia). Terrific stuff and again, thanks very much for sharing your magnificent collection. Bob (I forgot to add, you have a great frog too!)
    7. Wonder if Ernst is amongst the photos, ...(these docs are framed, so have to use the camera, this one is a bit too far away, will try and get a better photo), but it is to the same man... Bob
    8. It sure is a small world, the unit name of Eisenbahn-Flak-Abteilung 263 rang a bell, I checked when I arrived home from work this morning, and I have 2 promotion documents to an NCO from this unit !!! Took these photos a while back, will do closer if there is some interest.... Bob
    9. Thanks Dan, I am at work at the moment, it is 5:30 a.m. and I finish at 0600, so not long to go, the joys of shiftwork! Yeah I look forward to seeing what & why with the ribbon bars, and I did the same as you with the mannequins, and to have a good look it must have a massive ribbon bar, I gave a stack of what I thought were bad bars away a few years back when I tried to get out of collecting, but here I am doing it again, only have a few small ribbon bars now, and still have no idea if they are good or not! All the best to you and yours for Easter, I had better sign off, and get ready to do a hand over so I can go home! Cheers Bob
    10. That is a heck of an array of ribbon bars Dan, which ones came through with the thumbs up??? I knew a local dealer here in Melbourne many years ago who was doing long ribbon bars using original ribbons and devices, and he did a real good job but mucked up their order of precedence etc, the First World War ribbons lose me completely too! Your Luftwaffe singles and doubles with the long service ribbons look ok to me! The Schiffer book on ribbon bars was going to be on my purchase list until I heard that most of the ribbons in that book were not good either, it seems ribbon bars are a bit of a nightmare! Bob
    11. Hi Paul I am still at work, sneaking a bit of time on the 'pooter! The cap is piped for HG, so has the standard white piping for HG, but his rank gives it away on the sweat diamond, 'Kan. Herz' Kan. would be the abbreviation for Kanonier or Artilleryman, so he is 'Artilleryman Herz'. Bob
    12. Francois, your presentations always take my breath away, thank you for taking the time to show your items. Bob
    13. Well, many thanks Bill. Cheers Bob (I will try and add a few more caps shortly!!).
    14. Thanks guys, and sorry Eric, no idea who wore it. Bob
    15. Sorry Chris, all I know is what is printed on the hat, kinda hoping that Rick might be able to add something.... Bob
