    1. I am quite sure, this is only the recipients extraordinary taste. The only decoration with "official" bow is the Red Eagle Order 3rd class for Prussian, which got the 4th class before. Regards, Komtur.

    4. Thank you both. In between I got him: it is the french general Jean-Marie Brulard (1856-1926). Regards, Komtur.
    5. Can anybody help to identify this person? Thanks and regards, Komtur.
    6. Aaaaahhhh! You got this Munic stuff I was fascinated by these bars too, but had other priorities. I am glad to know, that they are in your collection now. Regards, Komtur.
    7. Very nice medal bar and always a pleasure to see, how identifying works properly . Regards, Komtur.
    8. Thank you for adding these 3 nice and interesting combinations! Regards, Komtur.
    9. Would also fit to the tread "non-combatant bars are difficult to find" ! Regards, Komtur.
    10. Nice picture! But isn´t it him more possibly as Oberstleutnant then as Oberst? As you noticed, he got the knight 1st class of the Merit Order with his dismission in May 1912. Therefore the picture must be before his promotion to Char. Oberst. Regards, Komtur.
    11. Yes. As far as I remember, the HOH was not awarded to women. Regards, Komtur.
    12. Red Eagle Order 4th class: 200-300 Euro Prussian Crown Order 4th class: 150-250 Euro Here are three German dealer specialized for imperial awards, all very kind and trustful and btw collectors too: Sascha Wöschler Torsten Straube Uwe Bretzendorfer If you buy orders of your "Dream List" there, you can be sure, these will be originals! Regards, Komtur.
    13. I can not really recognize it, but it would be logical, if this is the 1863 commemorial medal. Regards, Komtur.
    14. I would think, officers got the Order of St.Anne (or others). The medal was for the lower ranks. Regards, Komtur.
    15. 1870 (the same as for 1813): "... Die zweite Klasse wird an einem schwarzen Bande mit weißer Einfassung, wenn das Verdienst im Kampf mit dem Feinde erworben ist, und an einem weißen Band mit schwarzer Einfassung, wenn dies nicht der Fall ist ... getragen." The second class is to be worn on a black ribbon with white stripes, if it is earned for service in the fight with the enemy, and on a white ribbon with black stripes if this is not the case. 1914 "... Die zweite Klasse wird an einem schwarzen Band mit weißer Einfassung im Knopfloch getragen, sofern es für Verdienste auf dem Kriegsschauplatz verliehen wird. Für daheim erworbenes Verdienst wird es am weißen Band mit schwarzer Einfassung verleihen." The second class is to be worn on a black ribbon with white stripes, if it is awarded for service on the theater of war. For at home service it is awarded on a white ribbon with black stripes. Regards, Komtur.
    16. Here is one of these very early and simple constructions to be seen on a portrait. Regards, Komtur.
    17. A fine and original bar of a Landwehr officer and probably civil official (Beamter). Unfortunately with some small chips on the KO4 and REO4. Thanks for showing! Regards, Komtur.
    18. James, thanks for your statement! Regards, Komtur.
    19. No. This is the so called Hofjagdehrenzeichen (OEK 1820/5). It was founded in 1909 to the 50th anniversary of the Hofjagdorden - Der sehr edle Orden vom weißen Hirschen Sancti Huberti. There were three classes of the Hofjagdehrenzeichen. All of these are very scarce: 1st class 2, 2nd class 7 and 3rd class 17 awarded decorations. The Kaiser is wearing on the portrait one of the two 1st class Hofjagdehrenzeichen. They were only worn by the imperial hunting party of 25 persons and only on the uniform, created for these people. I got in Gunzenhausen a 3rd class. Regards, Komtur.
